drinking to relax is a lot different from acoholism. I had to scrape my mother off the floor pour her into bed and scrub the vomit off the floor on a nightly basis while she was suffering from alcoholism, never had to do that when she was on the antidepressants. Maybe alcoholism makes the person suffering from it feel a lot better, bt it makes the lives of those around them complete hell
Well alcoholism isnt that bad, as long as you do it in moderation. Getting drunk every night of the week isnt good for you or your body. Yeah still go out and have fun, do whatever you need to do to make you feel better. Yes, I guess alcohol could be called a feel good pill, without a prescription needed!
The odds are a true alcoholic will end up DEAD, or in JAIL. Alcohol kills your liver, destroys relationships and begins insanity.
It also makes people irresponsible, leads to STDs, pregnancies and death. Have you never heard of a "mean drunk?" Think of all of the domestic violence, there's generallly alcohol involved.
Alcohol may make YOU feel good,, but others feel bold and angry (and beat and or kill wives, gf's and children), drive and kill families; or lose inhibition (then have unsafe sex and get an STD, HIV, or pregnant.
My husband is a paramedic and 2 days ago was called to the scene where a drunk driver ran over a mother and her 7 year old, leaving the 7 year olds brains splattered over the 25 yards his car dragged her.

Alcoholism is viewed bad by people who have a problem with it.. It does the trick evrytime to make me feel better which is why i dont stop drinking on weekends.. Prescription pills in my opinion is a giant money market. If the drug companies could prescribe alcohol i am sure they would...
Alcohol is a depressant. It lifts you up and then drops you. It can eventually lead to liver problems, but more importantly, it impares judgement and can cause you to hurt someone.
Now I don't have any problem at all with moderate drinking, alot of us do this from time to time, I'm only speaking of actual alcoholism, the disorder, the point that someone becomes an alcoholic.
Drugs for depression and anxiety are closely monitored by doctors and often times by therapists, they are controlled so that in the long run they can be beneficial. It's a very extensively laid-out process. Alcohol is a temporary escape, and in the wrong person it can be a very dangerous escape.

Okay, I've got a story for you, my ex boyfriend is an alcoholic, and a crack user. He dumped me cause I wasn't any fun anymore, which as a matter of fact, I am lots of fun, I'm sorry but I don't need drugs and alcohol to have a good time. So after he dumped me I get word of it that he's with another chick who is like me, and I find out I'm pregnant. He deny's that he's the father and says I'm a ****...gee does that sound like someone you'd want to hang out with..or does the word "Jerk" come into mind?
