I have the same problem, and it's horrible because the doctors always tell me the depression medicine will fix the anxiety. But it doesnt! It turns out anxiety can be fatal even, so when it is that severe you may need a psychiatrist. That could be the only way, thats the way I am going

You sound exactly like someone in my family. She has been suffering from anxiety for the past 5 years. She started when she was 12. She has been taking her meds and seeing a therapist and is learning to overcome her anxiety. She functions quite well in social circles today and is learning to enjoy life. The important thing is to keep taking your meds even if you feel you don't need them and don't let anyone tell you to discontinue them. There may come a time when you can discontinue taking your medication but don't let others decide for you. Check with your doctor or therapist. When you're out with your friends, if you're feeling nervous, try deep breathing. You might also consider taking up yoga as this is great for learning how to relax. Good luck to you.

The therapist or a counselor might be able to help you. Maybe using cognitive behavioral therapy where you would identify the sources of your anxiety and try to eliminate them.

Good luck.

what are u dprsd. about? what is bringing u so down? remember that GOD is in controll no matter what is happening and that u need not worry or fear or be dprsd. of anything that everything will be all right! do u know GOD? do u know the son of god"jesus"? if not, its time to find them and this is how, read the stories that were left as a testiment of how no matter what is happening in our lives we can always call on GOD! and this is exactly what he wants! go find what GOD has promised us that he has and always take away the bad from our lives, because we can not always do it alone! read and believe this and it will be counted to u as rightousness! this is faith and once established u will began to call"pray" on GOD!

I highly recommend seeing a therapist -- find one you're comfortable with and see them on a weekly basis. They'll teach you techniques based on your situation and give you things to do to practice getting back on track. That's what works best for me -- it takes more effort than just pills, but that's how life tends to work -- gotta put in the effort for the best results -- good luck :)

I think the most important thing you can do is accept yourself.
Never wish you felt differently just accept how you do feel, and love who you are anyway.
Journal, right down why you think you are feeling the way you a feeling, and why you are getting nervous when you didn't used to..and just keep investigating, don't be afraid to look your feelings in the face and see them for what they are. A lot of the time there's a lot of negative believes about ourselves that need challenging because they are causing us problems unnecessarily. And journalling is a good way to get the bottom of it.
Yoga is a good thing to start to for the breathing and relaxion side. Aswell as a bit of meditation or relaxation time each time just so you can practise looking at your thoughts from a step back and not letting them get control of you before you realise it.
And never feeling ashamed of how your feeling, or of how something goes, because I'm sure your a fun girl who has no need to worry about things like how a conversation is going because theres more to all of us than how other people persieve us.
But most importantly love yourself, because thats probably why you don't get nervous around your family, because you know they unconditonally love you, and with knew people and situations, you don't know if you have their approval yet, and really you don't it because you can give it to yourself!!

breathe in to the count of 4 through your nose.... hold to the count of 7... blow out to the count of 8 through your mouth. Repeat until relaxed.

Find a psychologist and get some help. Not all anxiety can be cured with medicine. Some of it has to be cured with the mind, and be assured it can be cured! It's hard to face your fears, especially when you don't even know what they are, but be confident to know that it won't kill you and that you can defeat it. All you have to do is take one foot, walk forward and face it with the help of your loved ones and a knowledgeable professional :)

I once had the same problem. It was because my anxiety used to occur when I hanged around other people. In my mind I just told myself " Hey! I'm not under attack. Just because it happened before does not mean it will happen now. It can't happen now because what caused it before is not here now."

It was hard...You shake and your body feels bad, but it gets weaker and weaker each time. Eventually, it won't be there at all. It took me half a year, but I'd rather feel the pain for half a year then a lifetime .
