Is it ok that...?!

Question: 9/10 times when I get crushes on fictional characters, movie stars, etc, that its on older men? I'm nearly 17, but most of my fantasy crushes are over 40! Is that normal? I don't have relationships with older men in real life (not that I would exclude them, because I'm not an agist) but what I'm asking is if its normal for me to crush on people like Viggo Mortensen, Anthony Bourdain, Jason Isaacs (specifically as Lucius Malfoy), etc?

I don't see it as a big deal. I know a 14 year old who's obsessed with Johnny Depp because of his role as Jack Sparrow. It's not like she's gonna do anything and I don't see it as harmless. She also likes Viggo Mortensen.

You have a fantasy crush. It's never gonna happen and you know that. It's not dangerous or particularly upsetting.

It'd be one thing if you were crushing on unemployed 40 year old men. It's quite another to be crushing on fairly attractive, wealthy old guys who, for the most part, probably set a good example as to how to live life.

no!! not at all
it just could mean that you want men that have experience and know what they want and that you would rather be the one to follow than the one to lead
i feel the same way (*george clooney*) sometimes!!
its totally normal because you know that right now you wouldnt want to go out with a fourty year old but that when you do start to settle down and get married, you know what you want and what to look for.
it is very healthy!!!

No, not abnormal. I've heard that kind of stuff a lot from ages around yours. Beyond all, what you do is up to you. That's the beauty of becoming an adult, you get to make your own choices.

Perfectly normal.

This 'mental illness' is called infatuation.

Your interests are just different from that of others, who prefer people around their own age.

Yes that is normal, and I had crushes on them too (Im 15)
