Yes, it's really grim to feel like this, isn't it? These physical symptoms are very real, and even though you know the underlying cause is your anxiety, that doesn't mean the feelings aren't real or that you can just make it all stop by will power.

You have gone through sheer hell this year, and I am not surprised that you have had such a powerful reaction to it all. What would really help would be to see a properly trained and qualified psychotherapist. Can you afford this privately? Are you in the UK, when you might at least be able to get six sessions of counselling through your GP and possibly a referral for psychotherapy (but with a VERY long wait.....)? There might be an agency in your area that offers free or low-cost counselling/therapy. It's in talking everything through with a professional that you could get a completely different perspective on what has happened to you and it has affected you. I do hope you can get the help you need.

And yes, every day can be a nightmare physically if you have such massive inner anxiety. Some people respond to stress and anxiety with emotional stuff, others with physical stuff. If, as in your case, it's the physical manifestation, it can be really frightening, but it really is a result of your anxiety - and it is also real, as is your anxiety.

Anxiety and stress can cause medical problems. It sounds like you need therapy.

Thats your problem, anxiety. More than likely there is nothing at all wrong with your brain, anxiety can be h3ll. Just think calm. Relax. Light a candle.

it seems like you do have a physical problem, not just a head problem...try eating better...and relax...know that eventually it will calm down...jsut take those relaxing moments for what they are...

trust me I understand. Anxiety can wreak havock on your body. My husbands over being laid off caused acid reflux so bad his esophagus swelled shut (he seriously could not even swallow his own spit!) and then my anxiety over that caused me to develop an irregular heartbeat and spend this summer with a bad case of hives that nothing could really explain. Not to mention the constant not in my stomach that wouldn't go away. Have they put you on any anxiety meds? I called my dr about my heartbeat and he put me on lexapro and I can tell a MASSIVE difference in how I handle stress now. If not, see about getting on some, it could really help you! Also know that things do suck in life sometimes but they do get better. God doesn't give us more than we can handle! send me a message if you need to vent or anything!
