I'm not familiar with the efficacy of Busbar. Sorry, I cannot advise you on this medication.

Klonopin is a very good medication for bipolars who have anxiety problems. Not only is it a benzo, it is also a mild mood stabilizer - which is an added bonus.

Some antidepressants, also, help with generalized anxiety disorder; such as, Prozac, Zoloft, and other SSRI's. The SNRI's tend to activate the person and cause more anxiety.

Some of the antipsychotics help with anxiety too; such as, Geodon and Abilify. They squelch it.

I know so many people on different medications, but not Buspar. Perhaps, that speaks for itself?

Talk to your psychiatrist about your thoughts and question him thoroughly.

Try Xanax. It works wonders. Buspar is like "M&Ms"

This question can be best answered by a doctor or a pharmacist! Trusting people that you don't really know to answer questions about medications is dangerous. What may work great for one may do nothing for another! Then you have to consider all the other variables: what else is being taken, height/weight, race (and yes, with meds it makes a difference! ask a pharmacist or MD), gender, condition and severity of the condition for which the med is being taken. Then too, here, we are asking and answering questions around the globe!! I wish you well and hope you stay safe. I know that after we have taken a bus load of presription meds over a long time we tend to become complacent and think we know it all, but we don't! Remember too that most new meds take a the very least a month before we feel the full benefit.God Bless and have a Marry Christmas!

Buspar worked for me at one point. Everyones needs are different though. I WOULD NOT recommend xanax. I'm not sure a competent psychiatrist would even prescribe it these days. If you are looking for a benzo Klonopin works very well. It has a longer half life and is less addictive than xanax. Klonopin worked well for me too until I started taking more than prescribed. Now I'm taking Catapress for anxiety. It is a blood pressure med that is used for many different ailments these days. It seems to help.

I hope you are speaking with a good psychiatrist about this. A family physician may not have enough knowledge. Good luck!

they are not good either. i have gone threw so many anxiety meds that i could be a pharmacist. the one thing that i have finally got relief from and it helps within 10 minutes is Valium. yes they are addictive. i only use it when i feel the need for one. now the busbar might help you. i am not a doc. but the old and true meds that have been around for years and years are the ones i want to try.

I agree with tampagramma that you need to talk with a doctor -- preferably a psychiatrist -- about this, but I will tell you that I took BuSpar and it did nothing whatsoever for me.

Buspar is an old time drug I remember getting like 20 years ago for depression not anxiety, get Xanax. Yes they are addictive but every anti anxiexty drug is. Point being it helps and you need it.
