Im suicidal, what should I do?!

Question: I am having feelings of ending my life but Im afraid to do it. I am often slipping in and out of reality. I have friends who really care and family but I just dont want to be here anymore. I wrote my first letter of suicide to my mother when I was 9 years old. Two years ago I slit my wrists five times. I was fine after that but had counseling. I stopped going because the lady I was talking to said I didnt need any help and I agreed. I am happy on the outside but inside I no longer want to live. Please help.

You remind me of me when I was young. I too attempted suicide. It was my belief that life was not worth it and if I died everyone would be better off and wouldn't even care. So I tried a variety.

1. I attempted to hang myself with when I was in 6th grade
2. I overdosed on Tylenol...drinking a whole bottle at once.
3. I banged my head a few times on the wall in an attempt to break my skull
4. I ran outside in the snow with my clothes wet...in an attempt to get hypothermia

Basically, I was suicidal as well. All these failed attempts however made me realize something. I was not only hurting myself, but also my family. Yes, you might take your life and the pain would be instant and temporary for you. To your family however, the pain is eternal. They would live the rest of their life wondering what they did wrong. They would also wonder why. A suicide note might explain why and explain where they went wrong, if any....but the pain and emptiness will always be there.

I eventually moved out of my parents place and that's when I realized how good life was. It's hard at first, but when you're trully independent and you get to do what you want...within the boundaries of the law of course...it's simply amazing. There's so much to do, see and people to meet and get to know.

I'm not going to preach God to you...because...well, honestly, I didn't find Him. I found myself. I found the one thing that made me excited about life. You need to find that. Find what you're excited about.

I used to play video games a lot. Honestly, they were my medicine from suicide. Video games enabled me to release my anguish safely without hurting anyone.

The first thing you need to realize is how lucky you are...but most importantly...that whatever pain you are going through is only temporary. It's not eternal. Good luck and live life.

please call a friend, family member, hotline, or a professional immediately. you will never be beyond help and you CAN make it through this if you're willing to get help.
please get better for yourself, your family, your friends and live a great, long life.

Sounds like you want to talk to someone, telling people you want to end your life is a way to get attention. Go to your church and talk to someone. Or talk to your school counselor.

check yourself into the nearest hospital. do it before its too late.

If you are in the U.S. please call the suicide crisis hotline and talk to a counselor 1-800-784-2433.

Please do not take your life. I know you are feeling depressed and dont want to live but give yourself another chance to get help there are many wonderful things about life and you need to experience the wonderful things.

Part of you wants to die.... the reason you're alive is because you want to be.

What part of you wants death? Only the false. Die to that.

Find the truth of who you are.

Well she was wrong.. even though you feel like you dont need help you do... suicidal thoughts are not normal.. you need to go to your parents and tell them whats going on and how youre feeling.. if you took the time to write down that letter then you care.. I was in the same place you are a couple of years ago...and it took alot but my world has completely turned around.. .I know you may feel like theres nothing left now.. but that doesnt mean that it will always be like that.. If your anything like me you must feel like your life is a facade that people see you being happy all the time and have no idea what youre really feeling.. but they cant read minds... you need to tell them how youre feeling.. you can get help and turn things around.. trust me your parents and your friends dont want to lose you ... so if you cant get help from someone for yourself do it for them.. its hard to admit that you cant handle life anymore... but they would rather you come to them than the alternative.. I spent some time in a hospital and it was the best possible thing for me... theres no pretending in there...you can cry and ***** and moan and everyone understands...maybe it was time a doctor put you on some medication.. I know alot of people dont like that but you would take aspirin if you were having a heart attack and this is the same thing...to save your life... Good luck ..I have faith in you...and that one day you will look back and be happy you didnt do it...

That's sad, you have no reason to be suicidal,
you should really try to look at the best of life, there's no reason to not want to live, if you really feel like ending your life, before you do, which hopefully you don't.
Try God, try going to church,
if that doesn't work for you, do something wild,
just live life to the fullest.
You should really appreciate life.
I really hope you don't end your own life.

Living in the Now is what changed my life. You are suffering becuase your mind is either in the past of the future and never in the present moment. Learn how to be in the here and now, that is where you're joy and happiness is. The now is usually pretty good, and you ruin the now by bringing up past regrets or future worries. Christine Breese says it well in her videos at http://umsonline.org/SpiritualVideoSatsa... and I would suggest you especially check out the video http://www.umsonline.org/SpiritualVideoS...

If you want to read some articles that will really help check out http://www.ucmeta.org/Pages/ArticlesDire... and I would suggest the Affirmations course at http://www.ucmeta.org/Pages/Articles/Aff... or the Trauma And Recovery course, if you've experienced that at http://www.ucmeta.org/Pages/Articles/Tra...
