She may have what's called hyperhydrosis and it can be treated. She needs to see the doctor because this is embarrassing, especially for someone so young. Hyperhydrosis is usually treated with oral medications, prescription anti-perspirants or botox injections (the same botox that is used to treat wrinkles.) I'm not sure what your doctor will recommend because she is so young, but they can definitely help her with this. Good luck and kudos to you for caring about your sister!

take her to your family doctor and see what he or she says. my ex-bestfriend has that problem too she uses a deoderant called michum

Ok, well there are people who have problems with excessive sweat and there is a medical cure for it, but it involves pills and clinical strength deodorant. Maybe talk to your mom about your sister and tell them that she really does need help with this issue as she finds it embarassing and it brings her self estime far far too low. If they are hearing it from you they may be more likely to help knowing that this is something that is bothering her more than it should.

i think sweat pads and anti perspirants from degree and dove help...i had the same problem...degree worked wonders for me.

The condition is called axillary hyperhydrosis. There are prescription strength antiperspirants that can help her with this problem, but the doctor would have to write a prescription for it. There is also a product you can buy at the drugstore called Certain Dri that is pretty effective - almost as good as prescription strength antiperspirants. I have this problem, too, and it is very frustrating. What I have found is that the best products don't continue to work forever - you kind of develop an immunity to them over time which is unfortunate. There are also surgical measures that you can take, such as having your sweat glands removed - but that is just in extreme cases. By all means, talk with your Mom about this - she probably doesn't realize how much it is bothering your sister.

I sweat a lot too under my arms. There isn't much out there that does anything for me. The best i can do is always wear and undershirt under what i'm wearing and put on deoderant that smells really good. I know how you feel but i've never found anything that can help me out.

I second the "see your dr" ideas as they can help find ways to slow it down. Other than that, just be a good supportive brother and tell her not to worry, it will eventually not be as big a problem as it is now. Just be good for her.

Also, you can get publications about this condition, try wikipedia or this link:

Share those publications with Mom. Educate her.

People usually sweat excessively if their bodies are trying to get rid of toxins. Trying to inhibit this with anti-perspirants may not be a healthy thing. She may need to drastically change her diet. Cut out sugar, salt, dairy products first. Eat more raw fruits and vegetables. Then she should try increasing the amount of water she drinks. She should be urinating at least 5 times a day
