Nervous!!!!HELP!!!?!

Question: Hi, i'm going to Washington D.C in may of this year with my class.

In the beggining of the year i had some really bad troubles with online bullying twoards me so i've lost a lot of personality and im always nervous at school. I dont get homesick at sleepovers because my positive refuge (home) is just a phonecall away but i live in Seattle and home is going to be a plane ride away. My parents say i HAVE to go becuase it was a commitment i made when i chose to continue school there. I'm just so nervous about being bullied, having something bad happen, getting sick or being neglected without acess to home.

Do you know any way to cure the nerves. I know its in 6 months but i am already starting to get jitters and dont want them so severe when the time comes. I would like to calm them now

ANY IDEAS?!

THANKS!!!!!

Relax! It's going to be okay. You are going to have a great time and do lots of fun things! Maybe you can take a cell phone with you so you can call mom/dad each night and talk about your day. also, by carrying it with you, you know that if you start to get nervous or upset, mom/dad is just a phone call away. I don't think you have to worry about this. my kids went on a field trip to Washington DC, and they both had a ball. Besides, there will be tons of grownups - everywhere! i know that it is a bit scary to step out on this, but remember - if you sit home and hide, the bully is still controlling and harrassing you. By stepping out into life and trying to keep going, you are showing the world that you are a strong person and that no bum of a bully can hold you back! You might have been down, but you can get back up and keep going. Hang in there. This is gonna be a great trip and you are gonna be fine!

How well do you get along with the other students now? If things are improving, it's a safe bet that things will be even better 6 months from now. Do you have any friends in your class?

If you are experiencing a lot of anxiety, you may want to talk to your doctor, or look into some kind of counselling. Bullying can be very tramautic, but you don't have to let this continue affecting you. Especially if the bullying is no longer ongoing... seek some support to deal with an issue that is now (hopefully) in the past.

And think positive!

Distract yourself or share your feelings with a trusted friend. Good distractions include reading, puzzles and movies. Find something that makes you laugh and treat yourself to it.
