How do i tell her????!

Question: I was wondering how do I tell my mom that I think I am depressed and that I need help badly. I go to a counselor and it is but I think I need pills. I am only 15 so I don't know if I am even allowed to take pills. I think that I am really going to hurt myself and I am scared

Note if I can get help with out my mom knowing that would be great.

Tell your mom you need to see a doctor, if your afraid to talk to your mom. Tell her your sick- it's not a lie. Then tell the doctor your story and have the doctor- help you tell your mom.
Your mom would rather see you get help then hurt yourself in the long run. I know my mom was mad I was taking pills too... not much changes from 15 years old or 30 (my age) with moms.
Sometimes we all need a little help!

You should talk to your mother immediately...I know you don't want to, but you will need her. She needs to know how you feel. I didn't want to tell anyone what was wrong with me when I got depressed - especially my mother, but once I told her, she got me to a doctor, and that doctor put me on medication (and at 15 you can be on medication too) - which changed my life 100% - just trust your mom to be there for you...

Just tell her...as soon as possible. She needs to know what is going on with you. I'm glad you are seeing a counselor. Does your mom know about the counselor? You are so young and have your whole life ahead of you. I always try to remember the saying: "This too shall pass..." because I believe that is so true. Being a teenager is a very stressful time in your life. You need to talk to your doctor about your depression so he/she might prescribe antidepressant medication. No, you're not too young to take pills. It usually takes a few weeks before the meds start to take effect and you start to feel better, so just remember that if you do get on some medication. Please don't hurt yourself. It's going to get better. Talk all this out with your counselor and I urge you to talk to your mom. Good luck and take extra care of yourself. Watch funny tv shows and funny movies, that always helps me. Hang in there!

Your best bet is to tell your mom, even though you don't want to. She would want to see you get all the help you need; then have something bad happen in the end and not knowing the whole story. If that happend she would blame herself, because she would feel like she should have known and helped you get the help you need. So tell her for both of your sakes. Good Luck!
