Bipolar and winter blues?!

Question: An expert please. I was diagnosed after my father died, I had breast cancer and pneumonia. I was great up til recently-I can't and don't want to get out of bed. I am on Wellbutrin, Celexa, Lithium (low dose). With that in mind should I go back to my doctor and have my meds increased?? I really do feel depressed all of the time now. Thanks

I think its entirely possible that the winter blues could be edging you toward the depressed side. Have the meds adjusted and when spring rolls around keep a close watch on your moods and the doc may need to fine tune the meds again.

I'm not an expert. Just a fellow sufferer who tries to manage the disorder the best I can.

Be good to yourself. You have been pulled through the wringer.

Good luck.

Have you tried light therapy?
I have a very high powered light by my computer and it helps me with seasonal affective disorder. Yes you should go see your Dr. You may need for an adjustment in your medications

Have you tried stop taking all the crap your on. Maybe its the combination of the meds that make u fell this way. Get out of bed. Make yourself.

Yes, you need your meds adjusted. You should not be feeling depressed on what you are taking. Are you truly taking them? Are you doing anything behaviorally to help yourself to not feel depressed, e.g., exorcising, listening to cheerful music, doing something creative or artistic, etc., etc., etc. Antidepressants and mood stabilizers are not miracle pills or wonder drugs. While they do give you the one up over your condition, you still need to put some effort into your own health and well-being. Compare it to taking a vitamin each day but eating nothing put potato chips. I can guarantee you will not stay physically healthy on a pill if the rest of what you consume is junk. You can do it hun. Make a plan and stick to it.
