Wellbutrin question, Is this normal?!

Question: I've been taking Wellbutrin for 2 weeks and I started itching really bad. This is a sign of serious allergy. My doctor told me to keep taking the Wellbutrin and take claritin to help with the itching. Does that sound normal? Would you do that or switch to a different medication?

Most of the time when itching starts after a new medication, the med needs to be changed. This will probably only get worse and your doctor will have to change the medication.

it's an allergic reaction. take some benadryl.

Itching and a rash are normal side effects with wellbutrin. Your doc is probably right.

it depends on when the itching started, I would do as told by the doctor, If your itching started as soon as you started the meds it could be the meds, or your body getting used to them. I would give it a week with the claritian and see if that helps if not call the dr back.

very informative information from others who take the same meds.

Most have been on the meds for years, some months, others days.

It is a great source to find out what to expect, and I always check first it if I am being offered a new med.
