I have terrible mood swings... what could it be?!

Question: I have frequent mood swings, but it isn't like being bipolar. I mean... I am either really happy, pissed off or sad. It is like... I will get upset at the smallest thing. My boyfriend says I can help it, but it is too much of a compulsion to catch myself before I respond. It is not like I am an angry person though, 'cause I am generally a nice person, but on any given occassion I can just freak out. It isn't even on a special occassion either... usually it is unprovoked .. like someone will ask me a question and all answer all pissed off, but after a while I will be fine and then later in the day it will happen again. I don't know... the mood swings are too frequent not to notice.

Hello. I can be really moody myself. most of the time I am very pleasant to be around, but when im pissed, IM PISSED! My mother tells me a well-balanced diet is important... not having sugar highs and lows is the first step, and that giving your body the types of proteins it needs is important in maintaining a balanced personality. I think this is true, to an extent, though I would also advise excersise, and good old fun as good therapies. Reallly. If watching TV makes you happy, or smelling your favorite perfume, or getting a massage makes your relaxed and happy, by all means, MAKE IT HAPPEN. There are probably too many people in your life who mean a whole lot you and moody behaviour will make them weary, and possible afriad of you. Try and make YOU happy. Take a dance class, eat your favorite dessert, go for a walk, go shopping, whatever it take to make yourself feel good, and remember, all of the stressful things that sometimes get to you are not worth it! You do not want to alienate the people you care about, otherwise you'll have something ELSE to be upset about, you know? Try and stay focused and happy. If all else fails, talk to your friends, boyfriend and family about it. Its possible that they see your triggers, and can help you pinpoint what it is that is pissing you off so much. Good Luck!!!!! :)

you are an emotional person... possibly a water sign, check if your a pisces, scorpio, or cancer

You're probably pregnant.

maybe you are bipolar. I used to think I was or wasn't this or that but when I took up a Gen Psych class, I learned that we really should leave the diagnosing to experts. There's a reason that this is an established field of science: it's a specialization built on by scientists.

why don't you start some type of excersise.
best is go on the power walk on the machines for 40 minutes. let the sweat all over you, your head, your body. then take a hot shower. after that, you will be happy for at least half day, but alcohol does a swing to your mood, also lots of sugars and diets that you are non stop changing. if you stick to a regular diet and excersise and plenty of water, may be it will help a little bit.? don't watch tv too much nor the computer, it does make us a bit depressed.....? if worst comes to worst, ask your doctor. but i personally don't believe in unti-depressant. there was once my doctor told me to take, and thank god i did not. i did the natural new excersises and i feel better since then. But a friend of mine took the depression tablets, and even thought to kill himself. so i don't believe in medication unless it's complitely serious...

Perhaps it is bipolar disorder.

You may want to see a psychiatrist. Lithium drug can help, but you must get a prescription from the doctor.

Pray to Jesus and get saved. Jesus will take care of your mood swing. There are many people who are healed of mental disorders, other diseases when prayed for by pastors in the United Pentecostal church.
