Your first question is "Why." There rarely is an answer for "Why." Then look at what is going on. You're defining cycles. "[E]very few days or weeks or so..." Rapid cycling. Please see a psychologist. There are many forms of cycling forms of depression and mood disorders. Some have the nasty little habit of masking as something else.

Get yourself checked out physically, there are a number of physical conditions that can cause something like this. If you are clear on that front it probably is psychological and you need to see a psychologist.

I sometimes also have that feeling like I am walking in deep sand. It is hard to pick up my feet.
It sounds like you are feeling pretty bad.
Have you seen a psychopharmocologist to discuss possibly taking medication? Medications can be very helpful.
Have you considered going to therapy? Therapy can help you figure out what is what. It can help you decide what you want out of life. Once you know what is important to you, you can begin to take small steps to bring about change.
Best Wishes and I hope you will feel better.
