Anger management problem, please help!!!!?!

Question: I have a major problem controlling my temper, and I get irritated very, very easily. I am also very confrontational. If someone offends me (even slightly) I feel like I have to approach them about it. I think I started out trying not to be taken advantage of, but nowadays even the most trivial things flip me off.
I used to just argue or stew for a while, but now I've been breaking things, and I really have to restrain myself from getting physical.I also carry a major grudge, and I'm not very patient or tolerant.
I know my temper has negatively affected my relationships, even with my mom, and we were always very close. I also want to have children someday soon, and I worry that I might hurt my child if I get really angry at them, and I definitely dont want that.
How can I learn to control my temper, and also be more patient? I really want to try.

some of it is learning the right behaviors.
other is how we're wired. some people's brain chemicals keep them mellow, other people have imbalances that cause anxiety, irritability, etc...

I would see both a psychologist and pychiatrist.
there are probably feelings or issues you need to deal with, in addition to have medication help you manage your moods.
I know this because I am bipolar and you sound like I used to.
get help now so that the rest of your life is not miserable., jobs, relationships, etc...

Listen, I have anger management problems too and I have to take medicine to control my moods. You lack the coping tools to deal with your anger in a constructive way. Im going to give you a check list and if you follow this I would think you'd be ok:

1. Admit your problem
2. See you doctor for a psychiatrist referral
3. Find a psychiatrist/psychologist who uses "cognitive behavior therapy"
4. Go to this Mental health professional until they release you from treatment
5. Have a better life =)

As far as the cognitive behavior therapy, that is a must, look up some facts about it, using that with medicine would be the most effective way to treat your anger. Good luck ;)

You need to seek professional help for anger management! Do not have children until you get this "demon" under control or you will be doing some jail time!
