Have you ever taken St. John's Wort?!

Question: Sometimes I think it must all be in my head, but I started taking it and I feel much more tolerant of the ignorance and stupidity of life. If I skip a day by accident, I have to turn the classical music up just a little more at my desk at work to stay decompressed.
Have you ever taken it? What was your experience? I think it is better than going on Prozac like the rest of the world, I prefer an herbal approach when possible.

yes I have taken both stay on the wart it doesn't have the sexual side effect that prozac does.

No, I have not. I heard it was good for something. You should probably go and see a Doctor. The rest of the work is not on Prozac. I am not on Prozac.

Yes. it worked for me too..I also tried 5-HTP which also works but it cost's a little more than St.Js.

Yes, I have it is one of the highest recommended herbs to take for depression, unfortunately I can't stand the taste. I like the natural approach as well.

HELLO NODDY,
I'VE TAKEN PROZAC BEFORE AND IT WAS TERRIBLE!
YOUR SENSE OF NEEDING TO RESPOND QUICKLY TO THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS IS QUENCHED.
THE PEOPLE THAT KNOW YOU WELL WILL REALIZE YOUR NOW A DIFFERENT PERSON/
ST.JOHN'S WORT IS FANTASTIC. IT HAS NO NEGATIVE BRAIN SIDE EFFECTS.
JUST MAKE SURE YOU DON'T EXPOSE YOURSELF TO STRONG SUNLIGHT.

I agree with you on the prozac thing, and yes I used to take it regularly. I did notice a difference, but not sure if it was just me, you know? I'd take it for a while, feel better, stop taking it, feel bad, take it again, feel better and so on and so forth. I haven't used it in a few years now, and I feel fine. I'm not sure if it's just the fact that I've come to terms with the things i was struggling with back then or not. Well, if it works for you, keep taking it. Maybe someday I'll feel like I need it again.

St Johns Wort and Evening Primrose oil saved my sanity and made me into a better calmer person all round. I had severe post natal depression mixed with clinical depression and 2 kids under 2 so there was a knife edge happening. A health professional recommended the combination as i was dead set against and form of medication that would make me drowsy and cotton headed.
It really helped and i have cut the dose back to 1 table twice a day and am still coping ok. Good luck and anything natural is worth a try before any other artificial chemical

Yes it is effective and is even better with Evening primrose oil. The only side affects I know of are sensitivity to the sun. You may burn more easily, and If you are going to have surgery you MUST tell the anesthetist because it may cause a problem with the anesthesia recovery.
