Sorry, but i've lived in the UK and Cold regions of the USA and i just do not believe in Seasonal A. Disorder. It's all conjured in the mind. I didn't mean to offend you.

I don't know but I do know one thing, too much of anything is bad, & balance & moderation in all things is what works.
& I do know anxiety can be exasperated by a few things:
shallow breathing (take a few deep breaths every few hours),
caffeine (cut it out of your diet, switch to decaf & avoid fizzy frinks with caffeine), & also underlying insecurity, which can be overcome in my experience through loving yourself (onr thing I do is use this affirmation: I love myself, & repeat as often as you can.

I think natural light is better. Try to get outdoors more, go for a nice walk, it will do more good than any light box.

I would imagine that the light box came with instructions and that you should follow them to the letter. It should also have a list of side effects if that's applicable. Try googling light boxes anxiety and see what you come up with but remember that not every web site is a good or reliable one.

I think that the cause of added anxiety is probably not directly linked with use/overuse of a light box. It is more likely that at the time of year that the user needs the seratonin boosting effects of the light, is the very same time when users experience increased anxiety. I've used a light box for nearly 10 years for a couple of hours a day during Nov-Feb and I don't think you can OD.... The only side effects I have heard of are that they can trigger migraines or cause nausea but this usually happens at first use, and indicates that light therapy doesn't suit the user :-)
