Not drinking or using drugs?!

Question: Im 24 and Ive been drinking really hard for the past ten years of my life..In the past 4 years drinking and drugs have really taken a toll on my life..In the past year Ive recieved two DWI's. I have quit drinking but this is extremly difficult for me. I cant emagine not drinking in any social envirement..Will things get better? Will I be able to enjoy goin out or hang out with people that do drink? I refuse to let alchohol take over my life but I do wanna keep my social life .. Will this get easier? Has anyone exsperienced something like this? I feel that boozing and drugs have destroyed whats best in me. It motivates me not to drink thinking about all the harm its done to me but I cant help but to crave it.. Will I ever get past this addiction and get my life back?

yes, it helps a great deal if you could focus your addictive personality towards working out, jogging, and the cravings will subside more and more as you retrain your mind to crave healthy addictions. If you are in a social situation order a virgin bloody mary....spicy...got some kick...but very healthy.
good luck...i am doing this myself.

Realizing it is an addiction is the first step. My experience is the crave never goes away, but you have to resist or it might all go out the window again. I find if i give in once, it's too easy to take another drink or two or three.
