Alzheimers is a cruel disorder.I will tell you some of the things that I learned by spending time with a very dear friend that passed away by complications due to alzheimers. She had been diagnosed earlier and seemed to proceed with it until she was in an accident and suffered trauma to the head. The trauma caused the illness to speed up. Alzheimers is generally inherited. Do you have any relatives with a history with the same symptoms that have definitely been diagnosed with true alzheirmers. My most important FIRST thing that I would suggest is for you to talk with a medical specialist for a true diagnoses.. This is very important for you to decide upon youself. Also what is your age? It generally is something that happens in later life. Although, it has been reported to happen to younger people and also to persons that have no history of alzheimers in the family.I would suggest HIGHLY that you consult your primary care physician before you take on such a dramatic decision. There are ways of improving your memory. If you have difficulty remembering dates, appointments, or other events carry a pocket calendar to jot these things down. Eat healthy and exercise daily. Try to rest and get enough sleep. If you are having any emotional situation or have had one before now, seek professional help. That does not mean that you are crazy and it does not mean you will have to have therapy forever, it just means you have a medical need just like any other illness. Some people need help at times, just please do not diagnose yourself with such a severe illness. Take care.

Yes there are activities you can do to help you mind. But if you have alzheimers the chances to postpone it are slim I've worked at nursing homes for years and even though we played the games with them they in time where lost to alzheimers. Alzheimers is not good and there are pills but they still have not been able to stop it. I hope the best for you.
