Interesting therapy. I've never heard that approach before. By saying "adult baby' I assume you are referring to Infantilism (which is it's proper clinical term). There are several types of 'Adult Babies". The first group like to dress and act out being a baby, that group is called Adult Baby or AB for short. The next group doesn't like to actually dress up and act as a baby, however they do like to wear (and sometimes actually use) diapers. This group is known as Diaper Lover or DL for short. There are also groups in-between ages known as Teen Babies or TB's for short. That is a very short, very basic explaination of the groups that collectively make up "Infantilism". Here are some sites you might want to go to and check out more in-depth information about Infantilism.

For a very short help for you. This is assuming that the person in your family is an (AB) adult baby. If you really want to try to understand them, the most basic thing you could probably do is go buy a pack of adult diapers, and try wearing them for an extended period of time, say a few days. Or a more direct approach could actually be to talk WITH the person, not TO them. I know this is a long reply, but I hope it helps! I know many people that are into Infantilism and therefore know quite a bit on the topic.

Babies are fully dependant on others for their survival. So to act like a baby you need to stop doing anything for yourself.

Interesting therapy!
