Religion can be a strong positive uniting force in the world. It also causes some of the worst divisive problems in the world. Religions fight and kill amongst themselves. Protestant vs Catholic. Sunni vs Shiite. It is natural to have a reaction when you see groups that can't get along with themselves, let alone others, boast that theirs is the truth and the way. They hold it against you that you want to think for yourself and say you are doomed to hell if you do not believe as they do. This isn't just a Christian hang-up.

Viewing their actions, it is pretty natural to have negative feelings about their actions. Don't hate yourself for a natural reaction. And don't hate them.

Try if you can to think of Christians/Muslims/etc as just being confused about the truth and follow your path. Take the time to learn about religions. Choose one or none after you have studied. And try to think of those who are not on your path as being mostly good people who are only trying to lead good lives.

If your counsellor does not try to steer you based on personal agenda you might find help there.

Understand, no need to apologize. Religion tends to bring out strong emotions in people. The part that bothers me most isn't your hate for Christianity, it's your hate for yourself. I would try some close friends or family first (unless any of those are the root of the problem). If you do talk to your school counciler just be warned that words like hate and such are taken very seriously nowdays in schools, and for good reason. If you have nobody else close to talk to, by all means go talk to him/her about it. Good luck, I hope you find the root of the problem and bring peace to yourself.

You shouldn't HATE anyone. You do need counseling

You didn't explain why you dislike Christianity, but from my experience, a lot of people are turned off because a lot of Christians don't live up to their religion's teachings and keep doing immoral or unethical things. Is that why? Talk it over with your cousellor. Christianity isn't the only faith out there. If you don't like it, you can convert to Judaism or Islam or even become of Bhuddist, Hindu or a Wiccan. Your faith is between you and whatever you consider God to be, IMHO.
