Have I got ocd?!

Question: Have I got ocd.
Fore xample I have to touch things either 2,4,8 0r 16 times or I am afraid my grandparents will die or no-one will like me.
I also do similar things like that with my ipod and on my laptop when typing. For example if I make one mistake I have to make four mistakes untill I fell right.
I know I used to walk in and out of doors twice when I was younger.
Do yopu think I have ocd and if I do is there anyway to reduce it?

Yes I think you definately do. There could be a reason behind this; you may be very stressed at the moment etc. The only thing you can really do is try and lesson the times you do these repetitive rituals; other than that I reccommend you go and see your local gp and they may refer you to someone else.

Yes sounds like it, you can take anti depressants to help it, and they do help.
You can't reduce it on your own, you would just be at war with yourself.

u migt have it. meds can help lessen the symptoms.

yes, ive got that. you can get medication for it. im on sommat that helps but dont make it go away.

You might.

I was just diagnosed with OCD and given medication but I think that a lot of people have OCD tendencies.

Go get checked out. It will make you feel better at least.

Actually I think that you are looking for attention! I also think that if you actually had these symptoms your parents would have taken you to a doctor about it way before now, troll!

It sounds like you have a problem, regardless of what its called.

It depends how much you think about these impulses. When I was younger, I used to do everything in 4's. And, if I walked through a doorway, I couldn't go around and walk through the same door - I HAD to go back through the old door, like I had an invisible string on my back and it would get tangled up if I didn't retrace steps. Now, I'm 38 and I rarely act on these impulses. Although I do still do small things in fours, like smacking my lips. Best of luck to you.

i think many of us have a bit of ocd in us. i deffo did as a kid. don't have so much time now to do it but drift into doing daft stuff at times. just go with it. it won't hurt you.

Yes you do and should get help, only a doctor can provide that sort of help. Good Luck!!! Merry Xmas!!

Yep seems you have,As a kid i was doing the same kinda
stuff but as i got older it almost faded.I still have it a little, like making sure every things turned of at night and doing things in order before bed,but i have never told my wife or family
as i think it`s no big deal.
Luck and a good Crimbo kid.

yes - sounds like it, I used to do something similar, but i've taught myself that its all in the mind, although I have to wash my hands twice still, I no longer have to do things 2,4,6,8 ect times, and If i dont do it, nothing ever happens to my family. its a hard process to teach yourself but you need to be possitive. try doing something on a even number and leave it, then wait and see, nothing will happen to anyone you know, and it really helps. good luck

It sound like OCD. Please get some professional help they can help decrease the symptoms.

You have OCD most likely. See your doctor asap. There are medicines you can take which will eliminate and/or reduce your symptoms. You don't have to live like you do!

It certainly sounds like it, here's a website about OCD:
