Major Depression and military?!

Question: I am diag. with MDD with catatonic features. I am wondering will the military cover my medication? I am now up all night worried if I get discharged they wont help me with my meds and I'll get depressed again and try killing myself. They have me on prozac and geodon...Will the VA help?? What if I get 0% disability?

As a vet they are bound to take care of you, make sure you keep in touch with all of your doctors and agencies that help vets to get what you need. Make sure you also get the counseling too, that will help you cope better when you can talk to someone about how you are feeling. Take care.

The military should keep you in and treat your MDD until you get better. If when you're better, the military discharges you because of your MDD, then they should grant you disability pay and you will be eligible for treatment at the VA in any case because your MDD is service connected because it started after you were in the military.

Whatever medications you need will also be covered by the VA.

If they give you a medical discharge for the condition, you will qualify for VA benefits and depending upon the severity, you may get 100% total disability which will cover all medical care and provide you with enough income to live.
