many of the teenagers these dayz have similar problems like you, the only sol for this issue is start your day with something different, as soon as u get up try to go for a walk for at least 30 mins, then have some fresh coffee.. try to restrict yourself to not watch TV for more than an hour or two a day.. same with the video games.. Also yoga might help with your studies and concentration.. nothin is impossible for a willing heart..U can do it..good luck..

Find someone to keep you accountable. If your environment distracts you, then change it. Go to the library or study some where your parents can watch you and help you focus.

But grades are a GREAT motivator aren't they? That is why God invented them. Good luck!

stop smoking weed..

Hmm..well it sometimes helps to study with a friend. A friend that will keep you motivated. That way you can have fun while studying at the same time. And start exercising more. I know you prob. hear this a lot, but joining a sports team or something will seriously improve your motivation. And build confidence.

wow dude just get some good friends that actually study and are doing good in school and get motivated by them thats the easiest way =)

Look at the kid flipping burgers for a living....do you want to spend the rest of your life doing that? If not, get busy and study so you can get into college and get a real job someday. Or join the Army and let them kick the laziness out of you after high school.

You ARE the only one who can stop these bad habits. The trick is to replace the bad habits with a new good 'habit.' Television and video gaming is very addictive. You could promise yourself that for one week you're going to not watch television or play video games and see what happens. Hopefully in that time you'll find a few new (less lazy) hobbies. As for your schoolwork, check in with your counselor or teacher and find out if they can help. Good luck!

find a study date, unplug the electronics in your room and put them somewhere else. Do the homework while watching tv if u can multitask. Get involved in sports or clubs. get a gf they keep u busy

go visit a homeless shealter and a hospital and see people that wish they were in the position u were, then get some competitive friends and figure out what u want to do with your life while your unrestricted. Write it down1 maake a schedule and follow it even if its an hour everyday! Don't put yourself down or think u are incapable of, or can never achieve what others have, because they did it so u can too just ask how.

I run into these same feelings a lot - I find that the busier I am, the more it forces me to stay on top of things. So get involved. Join a sport at school, or start doing some volunteering, or get a job (bonus!! You get a paycheck!).

Go to www.flylady.net and download the 'Student Control Journal'. Then use it.

At your age, it is often difficult to feel like you are in charge of your life - school, the teachers and staff, your parents - it can really seem like there is no part of your life where you have any control. This is entirely false, however. It is true, there are restrictions on where you can live, what you can do, how you spend your time and who you spend it with. In reality, this is true for everyone. Sure, the reasons change - it's no longer parents and teachers, but it might indeed be other people - the police, judges, your ex-wife and your boss just to name a few.

At 17, you are just a few months away from being an adult. You will have to do more things on your own - you will want to be prepared. You will not enjoy spending another year in high school after everyone else in your graduating class has left.

And, at 17, it is time for you to be responsible for motivating yourself. The above-mentioned flylady (FLY = Finally Loving Yourself) says "they only way to get your house clean is by moving your arms and legs." Well, same goes for homework. There is only one way to get it done, and that's to do it. Crack the book, move the eyeballs, put the pen to paper.

At your age, you are preparing for your future. YOU will someday live in the body and mind of the person who is NOW not preparing for his own future. Finally Loving Yourself is about loving your future self as much as you love your current self.

When i suffer from motivation problems, I break out the timer. I set it for 15 mintues and see how much I can do in 15 minutes. Then I do it again, and again. The fourth time, I see how much break I can take in 15 minutes.
