Is it weird to talk to yourself? What if you accidentally answered out loud?!

Question: Happened to me sometimes.... i talk to myself then i would unintentionally answer out loud. If no one is around I'm clear but if someone is around they think i'm losing it.

Do other people do it or do i need meds?

sign of intelligence... my hubs does this a lot when on his own and seeks answers lol.
he often talks to himself when in front of me (says hes talking to his friends) however a very intelligent peep.

At least he can sound off and get some form of result...to him and his answers, clever.
No you are quite normal.
I even do it when my staff do not do, it has results Lol.

well it happens to me sometimes like i will be thinking of a conversation i had with my friend and i would say something out loud like what i shouldve said. I am wierd i know

it might look wierd to others but it really helps you organize your thought or come up with a decision..........so don't stop it because it looks wierd..............i do it too.

hahaha dont worry bro, been there done that...

ive done it if you do it all the time and think that you are talking to someonelse and not ur self when u do that then you should get help if not i do i to

i talk to myslef a LOT. sometimes during class i unintentionally mumble and people are like "wth r u doin?" when nobody's around i have like entire conversations with myslef (duznt that sound odd?) and as i was having a conversation with myself my dad walked in and was like "who were you talking to?" that was embaressing.

Happened to me in the store. I was going over my shopping list out loud. "Let's see, I need this, and this, and that..."

If you talk out your ideas and then hear what you're saying, they process differently in your mind because they are entering through a different gate.

Its not that weird, just a quirk. You don't need meds.

i do i all the time but go get check if it bothers u,

People do this all the time, even those who tease someone else for doing it. It is just thinking out loud. The problem is when people think that they are talking to another person who is not there.

If someone teases me for thinking out loud, I just tell them that I am the only intelligent person nearby that I can talk to.

I don't think it's all that unusual. I ask myself questions and then answer them. Usually this happens to me when I am working or looking for something. Talking to oneself can be a great way to solve problems. Also, it makes evolutionary sense because humans are social creatures; they generally do not like to be alone for a long time. This is why solitary confinement is a punishment. Talking to oneself can give the reassuring allusion that you are not alone.
