Question: Everytime I try to lay down to sleep my mind is always thinking that one day I won't be breathing and I will be buried in the ground in a box ....I won't insist anymore, it's so so scary to me. I don't know what to do to stop from thinking about this and get some sleep. I don't really want medication.... :( Please help?

don't worry about it plenty of other people think about this (even me sometimes) but I've learned you shouldn't waste life being afraid of the inevitable, because it's going to happen anyway. And if you waste life worrying you will have no life at all. Like they say live life to it's fullest. And Live each and every day likes it's the last day of your life. But I can assure you you will have much more time on earth before you go anywhere... Unless you're an astronaught. :)

Why don't you try talking to someone about this? You need to stop worrying about dying and start living life. You probably do not need medication if you can commit to talking this through with a professional over a period of time. You will see that once you work through this fear of yours you will have a much more fulfilling and enjoyable life. How old are you? If you are school age, go see the school psychologist, you really need to talk this through with someone who can help you change this destructive thought pattern.

Good luck!

milllionssss of people have died before you. it can't be too bad! haha. it's just life. don't worry about the end. just live.

don't be so scared.

you won't die. your mind is just playing a trick on you.

are you a happy person? start thinking happy thoughts? everytime you go to sleep tell yourself 20 things you are happy about (you are happy you can walk, you are happy that you can see, you are happy that you can hear, etc)

you will go to sleep with happy thoughts instead of these dumb useless thoughts

Try valerian root it helps you sleep and takes away anxiety,it works great for me.And during the day take st johns wort this helps your mental health, these are all natural. The st johns wort will help with depression ,when iam depressed i get scared about dying also, these things work best for me.Good luck and try not to worry.

Life only starts at 30!! You have loads to look forward too, you might get married and start a family. Then you will bring up your kids and watch them start their lives, like take their first steps etc.
But it might also help if you became more religious, i am not religious at all, but it would be nice to know that when you die you will go to heaven and finally be at peace. I believe that when i die my spirit will live forever, maybe as another animal or in heaven!
As for your sleeping problem, watching a funny standup comedy show helps me!

I think that if you were able to get some good quality sleep, you would be able to put things in your life into perspective better. One way to get some sleep is to prepare for it. When darkness falls, and your day is quieting down, take a hot bath and really concentrate on relaxing. Think about your toes, then your ankles, wiggle around a little, think about your legs, your knees, and so forth. You should feel hot and heavy. Then you could try one of the pm pain relievers and get yourself into bed. I know you don't want medication, but if it works, it works. I don't want to wear glasses either, but if I want to see, I must. You need to get some quality sleep. Try it tonight! Even if you only get 4 or 5 hours out of it, I'm sure that it will help you realize that you are safe again and that your life is going on. Good Luck!

You might find therapy to be very helpful to you, particularly given that your fear intensified after a significantly traumatic event.

Knowing your future after you leave this earth is also very comforting. If you want to know more, ask any Christian how you can know for sure that you will spend an eternity in heaven. In short, all it involves is accepting Jesus' free gift of salvation.

Hang in there,

Listen, I am speaking from personal near death experience. I had two of them. I also lost my soul mate January 30, 2005 in a snowmobile accident that killed him. I was in college at the time taking couseling classes. I had read and dealt with so much there is not enough room to explain on here...anyways...I read Sylvia Browne and although I am athiest, I do relate to quite a bit of what she says. I have no fear of dying cause when it happens it is going to be the time I mapped out for myself. I know I am again going to be happy and where that place is I am not sure but, I do know that it is wonderful. See everyday you wake is a new day, and everytime you sleep it is a time for you mind to go back to the place you belong and enjoy all those wonderful people and places you love most that are not here or impossible for you to be. Try to just relax and ask your spirit to guide you to that resting point you need for sleep. Everyone of us does have one (kinda like a best friend if you wish). That is the person you chose to help you map your learning life here on earth. This is just a phase...Death is going to be wonderful, if you are afraid try reading something on it so you feel relaxed. I was devastaited when I lost my sweetie and so I read as much as I could til I felt comfortable with what I learned. I can say, I am terribly upset at the way things ended up, but, at least I can deal with it a little better after reading on it. I hope you do find a medium that helps you sleep. I know it is hard but it takes time to sort through strange feelings. Good Luck!!. LLR

i had the same thing happened to me a couple years ago and it was so constantly (during the time my father passaway) and i was even scared to go to sleep at night. The thoughts would drive me crazy, i would have shortness of breathe and sometimes i felt like i was havin a heart attack or something...anyways i later did some research online and found out that i had panic attacks. So someways it natural to think about death sometimes, i mean we are all going to go through it oneday. But if it effect your daily self than i suggest you go and talk to a doctor/therapist...

We all have to face it someday your not alone. those who accept they will die learn to live. get living and stop dieing. God bless

sounds like you need to talk to someone about this a professional.
