Quitting smoking has stages. There is the 2 day hump, the 2 week hump and the 2 month hump. Once you get past those 3 points you will be fine. When you smoke your brain creates receptors that fiend off the nicotine. They start to die off once you quit and no longer convince you that you need it.

Depending on how long you have smoked, your cigarettes kind of acted like a friend. In a way they were always there for you when you were stressed or anxious, but to me it sounds like what you are feeling is anxiety. If you have never had anxiety before it can be scary at first when your brain tells you something is wrong, but remember that your mind can play tricks on you. If you start feeling those feelings remind yourself that it is just your head acting, and those feelings aren't reality. If it persists past 2 months, talk to your doctor and they can perscribe you some anti-anxiety medications. Hope I helped!

Maybe your smoking was a way to resolve your mental dilemmas and now you don't have a way to resolve them since you quit smoking. Try to find some way of stimulating your mind and working through any stressful thoughts. When you find a healthy way of ridding yourself of stress, I think you will fell healthier mentally and stress-free. Good luck.

The feeling will pass I had it too. Try thinking that you have become something better like a non smoker instead of thinking you're a quiter.
