What are some good home remedies for Seasonal Affectiveness Disorder?!
Question: I'm only a twelve year old boy and every evening and night in the winter, I get real depressed and upset and I feel extremly down in the dumps and I cry constantly all night. In the morning and earlier afternoon, I feel fine. It starts in the evening. I'M ABOUT TO CRY BECAUSE IT IS SO BAD. I use coffee to give me a high but it's a short last. Help!!!!

Exposure to SIMULATED SUNLIGHT can have excellent results for people with seasonal affective disorder. There are many brands of these special bulbs and lamps. One is called "Ott lite". Do a little research online (search for "simulated sunlight lamps), find a reasonable bargain, and ask your mother to purchase one for you.

No 12yr old should suffer from depression! Do you have any real idea what depression is? What you are feeling is "peed off" because you are rightfully stuck at home. How the h**l did you ever get to know about S.A.D. when most adults are unaware of it? If you are sooooo blooming intelligent then you will know that caffeine is BAD for you and does not produce a "high". Do your homework, help your Ma, stop being a prat, or stop getting off on pretending to be someone you are not, why the hell are you discussing this via computer/YA? More to the point, why is YA allowing 12yr olds on here? It blocks adults who dare to speak their minds yet allows children access to what are "adult" topics. Sure, there are parental controls, but if they (YA) can give me a violation for nothing at all why are they allowing kids to be on here? There was a Q earlier today from a kid who proffessed to being 10yrs old, included in that was their e-mail address,something which YA advisers protest against in their Ts/Cs yet it was submitted for all to see. I am a technophobe, an internet "virgin" but something is seriously wrong with a system that denies free speech amongst adults yet fails to protect the young. No doubt I will receive yet another "violation" e-mail.
