What's something you admire in your parents?!

Question: I think I admire my parents for making better lives for themselves. My mother lived in what was practically a shack growing up and had to get jobs to pay for whatever she wanted, she went on to get a teaching degree, and nursing degree, and a degree in business. She's rather successful now. My father was from the tribal areas of Pakistan where education is not often highy promoted, and he eventually became a doctor. he's unbelievably intelligent, but he hasn't forgotten his home. He gives money to his family and has built numerous homes in Pakistan for them. My mother donates on a regular basis.

So I suppose their hardwork and and generosity

For my mom, i admire that she's always smiling even if somethings wrong around people, and that she gets along well with everyone she meets.

The way they love each other-
This year is their 25th anniversary.
Not many couples make it that far anymore......

My Mom is in heaven and I miss her so much it physically sickens me. She was the greatest and I had respect for all she was!

My parents lived in the depression and gave us a much better life.
Dad was born in 1914 and his dad died in 1919. He was homeless from 1926 when he was 12 until he could get established going from job to job until WWII. Every job from milking cows to driving a bus. He got steady work in WWII and met mom in 1946.
Mom was born in 1926 living in company housing in a company town until 1944. They had 4 people in a two bedroom house then took in 2 boarders. She went to the city in 1944 and saved money living with her aunt and uncle.
In 1946 they took her money and sold dad's car to buy a house when they met and married. They had babies in 1947,1948 and 1949 and we never went without anything important we always lived in a house and had food. Mom did without a lot so we didn't have to. Dad worked even when he had pneumonia to support us. Mom quit her job on the way to buy the wedding license and didn't work a real job until we all left home. But they took care of retirement for themselves and never leaned on us kids either. Mom took care of dad in his old age and he took care of her making sure she had a house she could age in place and enough money to live pretty well and how to handle the money.
Mom is a widow now yet still would take care of us if we asked her for anything but she raised us to be self reliant so we never would. I see her pretty often and would do anything for her.

Even thought they don't like animals, they let me get a russian tortoise and bearded dragons. So this shows they at least give things a chance.
