HELP! Whats wrong with me?!

Question: For the past few months I have been feeling REALLY weird. Whenever I go into a public place like the mall or a store or even to school or work or something where there are lots of people, I start feeling dizzy and lightheaded and fatigued. When I am at home I feel perfectly normal however. I went to the doctor because I felt like a hypochondriac. I came on the internet and thought I had some crazy illness but after the doc ran lots of blood tests everything came back normal. I have come to the conclusion that this is some kind of depression or anxiety but I just can't figure it out. Every day it seems like when I go to interact with someone I start getting anxious and nervous. I was at the mall today and started feeling really hot and tired and dizzy. When I got home I felt perfectly normal. Its almost like im allergic to being around people and being in social situations. I have been undergoing lots of stress these past few months from college apps so I dont know if that is why. Help!

I had the same symptoms ;It will eventually lesson. Do u start
to sweat, i`ve even gotton sick and vomited b-4. And i felt like ppl were lookin at me,& i was closed in. It`s prob. an Anxiety
Attack. My doc prscribed Zocor & somethin else that i don`t take anymore.

I honestly have pretty much the same symptoms and I don't know what it is. It's debilitating though, that's for sure.

Probably should see a psychiatrist or psychologist because it sounds like you have anxiety disorder.

doesn't sound good. and your dr. doesn't have answers either ? maybe you need a different dr.

maybe your closterphobic

quick get the straight jacket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

see a therapist, there is nothing wrong with therapy if yo feel you actually need help,

i don't think you are asking the right people

ADD it sounds like! Go to your doc and see what he or she says! you shouldn't be like that around things!

It feel like a Panic attack....Read up on it.

your just having panic attacks
happens to me all the time
i cant go in public places or i freak out

maybe your subconcious is making you tired b/c you are uncomfortable being around people and you are unknowingly creating an escape plan so that you may get home.

maybe you're "anti-social"? and get nerves when people are around and you are afraid of being judged?

fist of all take a deep breath you are really stressed out and anxious w hich is why you are probably feeling bad. try to go out for small amounts of time and just take deep breath and drink some water and go home. then try again but for a little longer. you are fine just going through a stressful situation.. if you are really worried ask you doctor to recommend some type of counselor who can maybe tell you how to control your stress better or at lest help you get some things of your chest, give you professional advice... etc

everything WILL get better just relax and be patient with yourself

I think you may be experiencing panick attacks due to anxiety. You should talk to someone proffessional about this and start to relax and look after yourself more. Talking to a good friend will help, you are not weird or unusual many people who have been under stress suffer with this. Perhaps you need counselling or some short term tablets. Good luck wish i could help more

That sounds like a really damaging condition that affects many aspects of your life, and I'm sorry I don't have a direct answer for you.
It could easily be stress, stress causes so many changes in your mind and body, in all ways, mentally and physically, outside, inside, any way you can think of. It may be your mind's way of telling you that you are so overwhelmed and stressed that you are having these reactions when you are in public places.
It is my belief that everyone's body and mind has a different reaction to stress, some people begin to feel the mental effects and others take a physical toll. I would suggest relaxing more often and temporarily removing yourself from situations that give you that overwhelming feeling until you feel confident that you can stop getting those feelings.
Another issue, as I said in the last sentence, could possibly be confidence issues. Next time you have to do something that normally overwhelms you, stop yourself a moment and visualize yourself successfully doing that thing without feeling so bad, and say to yourself I CAN do it, and it may just change your whole outlook on things.

Dont fret.. =) YOur condition is called.. AGORAPHOBIA.. for short.. you hate public places.. =) Its a fear actually.. You can visit a psyhologist/psychiatrist near your place.. He/She will help you solve your problem.. You'll be given what they call "Systematic Dissentization".. What is good about this is.. its all the mind.. Hope this information helps you.. Gudluck & Takecare.. =)

Talk to your doctor again and ask for a mental health referral. Sometimes you have to really be persistent to get the medical attention you need in today's healthcare environment. Squeaky hinge gets the grease.

It may be an anxiety related thing (sounds like agoraphobia, but you should not let us knuckleheads on YA diagnose your mental health issues!) What we can safely tell you is that you should not settle for medical care that lets this kind of thing persist, and you should call your primary care physician back and ask for a mental health referral. A short course of meds can get your anxiety under control. If you can, also opt for some "talk therapy" with this specialist. It will help you learn to cope in healthy ways with life's anxiety provoking issues to attempt to avoid this kind of thing down the road, if you can. Everybody's brain is different. Some of us are anxious, and that's just a normal coping mechanism. Sometimes the setting goes a little haywire. Learn to manage it now, and enjoy a long healthy life.
