So i have a problem?!

Question: I'm a pretty outgoing person. I'm told I have a bubbly personality and what not. The thing is lately everytime I get around my friends or go to a holiday party or what not I have trouble just being myself. I feel like i'm having an identity crisis! I end up just keeping really quiet or I start giggling a lot. It's quite embaressing and i'm sure amusing for my close friends who really know me to watch.

I'm not sure whats going on... I just feel like I cant act myself and I keep slurring over my words and my sentences dont come out how I think them in my head! I have never had a problem like this before!

Anyone else ever go through this?

You're being put in an unfamiliar situation, and it's making you extremely uncomfortable.

Try to relax, tell yourself not to worry about what other people thing, or drink until you DON'T care what other people think. ;) No big deal.

If it persists past your teenage years, and I mean really persists so that you constantly feel socially anxious, THEN you should get a psych reccommendation. Right now, though, this sort of behavior is completely normal.

Maybe you should quit drinking.

that happens to me alot!!! sometimes ill be very lively but sometimes i get nervous like no one wants to hear what i have to say!!!!

it passes...then comes back

Your to hot!!! thats why. Acctually i get the same way and it a matter of practicing control. You want to be normal but you just dont know how and so you wing it. they used to give Paxill for that cause it was a nervouse condition. But trust me your fine, just need to relax and know your hot and you dont need to give anyone anything more stimulating than that

It may be medical. Go and get it checked out by a doctor. If nothing is wrong then it may be mental, then ask the doctor if he could recommend some one.Somethings is definitely not right. Good Luck!

Sounds like it could be Social Anxiety Disorder. In some people it comes on later in life and some deal with it their whole life. There are some medications to help with SAD but some of the side effects are awful.
