Because clearly there is something you still "want". What is it you want? Define that, and see if there's another way you can "get it." Fill that void somehow.
You don't give details but it is hard to move on and is never easy. I have been through bad things myself and I have suffered badly because of it. You are not on your own and you can do this, but in your own time
It takes time mostly. When the things from the past enter your mind you have to force them out. I've done a lot of things in the past which make me feel guilty but that's what I do when I start to dwell on them.
The thing that you are trying to 'let go' of is in your life for a reason.
Talk with your therapist about that thing and see if you can get to the bottom of it and what it's trying to teach you.
It also helps to have a clear head & healthy body with good fitness.

1. Do something that gets your heart rate up a bit like, walking, running, biking, and swimming.
2. Eat Whole, Organic foods like: Broccoli, Cabbage, Organic Brown Rice, Beans, Spinach, Sweet Potato, Apples, and other fruits and vegetables in their Natural State.
