Is it leagal for a 15 year old to live alone. How can I do this?!
Question: I want to move out and away! I live in New Brunswick and I want to move to British Columbia. I have realitves there. I am really motivated to start over! I want the chance to make a first impression again! I want to do it the right way. Right now I am known (barely) as the quite, weird girl who is going to die alone. I want to be the sexy, popular one that every guy drools over! The girl they want at their parties...the confident one! I want to have some fun. My life right now is like a prison! I have never smoked,drank, done drugs...but as I've seen/ life is so much better that way! My cousin does it all...she has tons of friends, an amazing personallity, a job, boyfriend, a future! I have nothing but work ahead of me...and work isn't fun! Help!

My advice to you is not to live alone. I think it would be in your best if you concentrated on school and looking into things that interest you. For example, I would look into photography, art, music...those are just some things I like. When you are involved in the things that you like, people that are similar to you will naturally gravitate toward you. Smoking, drinking, and drugs are not what gives a person friends, personality, a job, a boyfriend, or a future. Definitely not a future! Just look at any older people that you know who live that kind of lifestyle
I am not sure...in the US, where I live, you have to be 18 to live on your own...where you live, I am not sure. Ask your relatives about the age requirements for living alone.
Sorry, you have to be 16 and have your parents sign a consent form. That's in Georgia, I don't know about where you live. Check the Internet for laws concerning this.
You are wanting to ruin your life. You need to do some serious maturing. You think you can be happy being some sex / drug model image. Think again. If these are seriously your goals then I weep for your future. See you back on yahoo in a few years times when your life is in the gutter and you have become suicidal and you are wondering why!!!
First of all, you really have a lot to learn about life. 15 years on this planet is just the beginning. You will have plenty of time to get a job, and time to practice to be "popular". Being popular is sometimes not all it's cracked up to be. Your cousin probably has something you still need to attain: self confidence. You will not find it smoking, drinking or partying. Self confidence comes from inside, and from knowing who you are, where you come from and where you want to go in life. It comes from the love of your parents, good friends, EDUCATION, and good HARD WORK!
nothing ever worth anything comes easy... it takes hard work to get anywhere in life.
legally, you will need to wait till you're 18. and why do you think getting out on your own at 15 is gonna be easy? Are you ready to pay your own rent? buy your own food? how about transportation? oh, yeah, and who is paying for it all? what about a JOB?
enjoy the freedom of being with your family, and appreciate that they are for now, footing the bill for you. Do you think you would really be well off now? on your own? think you can survive the streets all by yourself? think long and hard before you make any decisions.... there are things out there scarier than you realize, like sexual predators, serial killers, and worst of all, YOU if you're not ready.
you will be sexy, popular and all you want to be, if you just give yourself time to mature, find a job, finish up high school, and go to college. unless you like being homeless, starving and broke. and sometimes, maybe say thank you to your parents, for putting up with you, and caring about you.
i am not sure what the laws are where you are. but to be honest with you, and i am not trying to sound harsh, you are not ready to live alone. you are still young and immature, after reading your question it shows you are not an 'adult'. once again i want to stipulate that i am not being harsh, you sound just like a 15yr old should... stay where you are and work things out... maybe change schools, that will be starting over, there is no need to move to another state. have you thought about how you would support yourself...
