Would eating soy products promote depression?!
Question: Since soy mimics natural estrogen, I think it alters my moods when I eat it.
Answers: Since soy mimics natural estrogen, I think it alters my moods when I eat it.
When eating soy products the blood absorbs the soy protein molecules and transfers them throughout the body and eventually to the brain. Our brain keeps us happy by releasing endorphins, a chemical that affects our mood in a positive fashion. The soy protein in some people, mostly female, inhibits the production of endorphins thereby causing mild to severe depression. However, severe depression is almost never the case as other external factors are usually to blame. Great question. I hope I answered it well.
