Why do i feel really depressed?!

Question: It's 30 minutes before the year ends and i feel like someone's sticking hundreds of needles in my heart (figuratively speaking). >_<

i went through too much pain during my childhood but it should be gone by now since i cut off all ties years ago and moved to the other side of the world.

How do i get rid of this negative feelings?

Peace to you,

I hear your pain and your disapointment over how the steps you have taken to end your pain have not worked to your satisfaction. Having to face "yet another year" of the same does not sound very inviting and can make you feel anxious (pins in the heart). To have a fresh new beginning is one thing, but it does not sound like you feel there is anything fresh or new that will take place in 2008. Does that sound right to you?

When I was in my early 20s (now 41) I watched a documentry about the people in the consentration camps in WWII. Some of the people fell apart, and others got through it, and some roseabove it all. I asked myself "If they are all in the same place, then why are they not acting the same?" I recognized that it is not the situations in life that control how we feel, but the internal situations: out thoughts, genetics, chemical makeup, and so on.

t sounds like you have changed your external world. Heck, you moved to the other side of the earth. If your problems have followed you, then you must have brought them along with you.
Your pain can come from many places. But what caught my eye is when you wrote "cut off all ties." The fact that you bring this point up suggests that it may not be cut off completely. It sounds like you are still dealing with some things in a way that makes the pain stick.

What is good about your question is that you are looking for an answer. I would like to help you find one, but I would need more information to help. The best I can say is, find someone to help you "find your own way"

Dude, its a new year, bring it in with the thought that you'll do things that will make you feel better, and forget about the things that are keeping you back.
Hit the gym, get on a healthy diet.
By all means, I get what you feel sometimes too, that's what drew me to this question. I think everyone does a little.
Life is a balance between good things and bad things. Try to put yourself in good situations and keep the bad ones to a minimum.

You're the man, happy new year!!!

Make a special place in your home for yourself. This time of the year is depressing for alot of people. Maybe you miss someone that you used to have constant connections with. Find a family member you trust and speak to them about how you feel. Also look inside yourself and see what is the root of your pain.

I don't know if this will help you out or not but in the winter depression is more of a problem then in other seasons, because the sun is not as strong. The sun provides vitamin D and that helps fight depression.
