How to deal?!

Question: I have so much on my plate right now. I am moving 2500 miles away from my family, I'm starting Grad School, and on top of that, my mother recently had surgery for colorectal cancer. Thankfully she's doing quite well, but I have been doing A LOT (basically everything) for my family. I'm so stressed about how things are going to go when I leave and the care she will get with me being gone. I just feel so overwhelmed right now. How do you deal with stress like this? I can't sleep, I haven't been eating much and I feel like I have constant anxiety.

man when it rains it pours.
I hope everything works out for your mom.
Lots of stuff in a row makes it impossible to deal with anything. There are anxiety medications your doctor can prescribe, but make sure you try them out before school starts so you can be on a proper dosage that won't interrupt with your studies. If you think it's just a time factor to get over stuff, try other techniques. Journal about it, even if it's just scribbling, get the stress and worry out of your system.

Take deep breaths and meditate regularly. Maintain a healthy regimen of diet and exercise.

Good luck!!

You are doing well, be calm, you seem to be coping with an awful lot, but thats it, you sound like you are still coping, if only just. I would be more concerned when you do make the move, not just because of the concerns you have about things at home, but that you will have to cope with not being able to react, to help, to care. Thats the time you might need to seek some help to talk and as a last resort to take some meds to sleep.

I wish you well, keep up the outstanding effort, I hope your mum continues to improve. But don't hold back on seeking the support and help you might need.

How to deal with the stress, well we each of us can handle an awful lot when we have to. Sometimes we have to put the worry aside and come back and tidy it up later. You have to learn through whatever, reading, walking, music, gym, classes to put the worry aside and deal with whats right in front of you and is making the most noise. Just remember to go back and work through the worry, make time for it, but keep it to its time. I hope that helps.

Be safe, be sage

Just relax. Keep in touch over phone; but concentrate on your studies and immediate responsibilities.

Happy New Years!! I know what you are going through. Take a step back and breath deeply. now, how's your mother doing? My blessing are with you and your mother in her recovery. The dare lord though obtacles at us sometime is unexpected. Keep planning for college, things well work out with your mother. Make plans and set up your family before you leave. Try to make monthly visits and phone calls. Continue to hang out with friends, it a stress reliever. Believe me, it help me a lot. It not that bad, so please start eating right. Things would work out just keep the faith and plan everything through.

keep your head up!!!
