Sleep problems.could someone help please??!


Question: hello there..i would like to cut down my afternoon nap..everyday at 3pm i go to bed and get up onli at 7.this is wasting a lot of time..but every otherday,its the same..please help

Try eliminating your afternoon nap if you can. It should allow you more normal sleep through the night. You can go to bed early around 8 or 9 pm and get a good solid sleep. If you find yourself constantly re awaking at nght, you may have sleep apnea. This can be treated. You'll need to check out your local sleep study centers, which are found in many hospitals.

I will recommend something that I know has helped a lot of people. A 20 minute long power nap taken every afternoon. I know many people who do this and feel excellent after their short sleep. They feel refreshed and ready to continue on with their day.
The only reason I don't take a nap is because I don't feel like I need to have one. I am always full of energy (then again, I am only a teenager).
Furthermore, this 20 minute power nap idea was recently discussed on ABC radio by a specialist in the field.

Daytime sleeping is a bad habit, except possibly in very hot climates (siesta). Shower then, and go for a walk, and keep occupied until bedtime.

Your body is used to taking a nap at the same time everyday, when that time of the day comes, force yourself not to go to sleep, take a brisk walk, run errands,etc. after a few days you will break the cycle and that sleeply feeling will go away.
