So depressed :(?!


Question: i'm constantly depressed, i suffer from really low self esteem, i confine myself to my computer,and i pretend to be someone else like someone popular so i get through my days... anyone know what i can do to gain confidence and be myself? appreciate any help again, thanks!

Occupy yourself with a new hobby (not the computer) or join a sport. Take some extra money and go get a makeover for yourself. Try do do things that will make you feel better...try thinking in a positive way, and don't let any negitive thoughts enter your mind. If it gets to the point were you are sleeping all the time or you have thoughts of harming yourself, then its time to get some guidence!

You first have to figure out why you are depressed. Always always always, exercise and eating healthy are a good start. also do things that make yu feel good and things that you are good at. You have to make your self feel better, no one can do it for you.

I assume you are young? Why are you depressed? I am sorry you are going through this but you need to get some help. Is there someone you can talk to? I bet you are a great person but how will anyone know if you are stuck behind a computer? You need to get out, take a walk and make some friends. Yes, I know it's hard but I've been there myself. You made a big step admitting you have a problem and telling people about it. That is brave. I will keep you in my prayers and hope you will gain the confidence you need and be the life of the party. you need to start doing things that you like to do and then maybe you wont be so depressed
try getting some new freinds and trying out new things

pray to God and let him in.He will help u if u let him and read the word of God

Unfortunately there is no particular formula for overcoming depression. I wish there were! There are already some great suggestions listed in the other answers; take a look at them and work through what you can. Make lists of things you have to be grateful for. It's proven that when one chooses to see the negative in the situation, it only perpetuates. The same goes for thinking with optimism. Good luck, dear!

I know how you feel,what you need to know is that there is no quick fix answer to this question.
First of all,you need to find some self help groups in your area or even talk to your doctor about groups where you can talk things through and find out why you are feeling the way you are.
try to do more of the things you enjoy or go to places where you feel comfortable, this might be difficult as you will probably find that you do not have much energy.
just try a little bit more each day...
You have taken the first step by realising that you have a problem and that you want to gain confidence again
