Is one of the symptoms of borderline personality disorder you get angry with peo!

Question: or who you have ' perceived ' have rejected you?

what is the answer?

im a 30 year old bpd sufferer, i have a very low self esteem....im very clingy...ive never made any friends in life......ive never been in a relationship or ever had a girlfriend...

i generally feel very inferior to people.....very unworthy......i was bullied extensively throughout my life and suffererd sexual abuse as a toddler.

i struggle with alot of aggression and rage as i have done for a long time.
i have alot of paranoia that people are out to get me....single me out...that everyone knows about me personally.

im very aloof...cold...standoffish and guarded and always on the defensive with people....really struggle with aggression & rage....because of anger that was bottled up all through the bullying.
i experience rejection constantly when i initiate contact with people through the internet, its like they have a 6th sense and seem to know about me & my problems before ive even told them.

I'm no therapist but I've suffered many of your symptoms and found good answers in a book called "Painfully Shy: How to Overcome Social Anxiety and Reclaim Your Life" by Barbara and Gregory Markway (both Ph.D.s).

Let me add that I am not BPD (that I know of!) nor do I know anything about it, but I was crippled by shyness - rooted in shame - it sounds like your current afflictions are also rooted in shame. I read the first 20 pages or so and put the book away feeling I had gotten what I needed. I've never been the same.

I can't say that 20 pages of any book will change your life, but is has certainly been helpful to mine. I've lent it to others and they have all gotten something out of it. I keep it handy and refer to different parts on occassion - just for reassurance.

Good luck!

Hi--Borderline personality disorder affects how people feel about themselves, how they relate to others and how they behave.

People with BPD often have an unstable sense of who they are. That is, their self-image or sense of self often rapidly changes. They typically view themselves as evil or bad, and sometimes they may feel as if they don't exist at all. This unstable self-image can lead to frequent changes in jobs, friendships, goals, values and gender identity.

Relationships are usually in turmoil. People with BPD often experience a love-hate relationship with others. They may idealize someone one moment and then abruptly and dramatically shift to fury and hate over perceived slights or even misunderstandings. This is because people with the disorder have difficulty accepting gray areas
