Is this OCD?!

Question: Do you think this is OCD?
I have to apply lotion to my hands several times an hour/day.
My house has to be clean before I go to bed or leave the house for the day.
I have to vacuum the floors often and make the bed before I feel "complete".

OCD makes people afflicted with it feel terrible. So if you feel good because you're hands are smooth and the floors are clean, then probably not. It could be a similar condition though called Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD).

Most people have ocd of some level. Some people have it alot more then others. In your case, I would say you have it no more then the average person.

Yes.

Probably.

yeah that is ocd
As long as it isn't hindering your life or over occupying your mind in any way it isn't necessarily a bad thing.
There are several websites that discuss OCD thouroughly.

It's got the usual symptoms of OCD, and if it takes up more than an hour, daily, gets worse, or interferes with your life to any great degree, seek therapy, because it can quickly take over a person's life. See section 7, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris and also view section 6, since it's thought to be an anxiety related disorder. Practice one of the relaxation methods on pages 2, 11, 2c, or 2i, daily, and when needed. Also, give the EFT a good tryout, to see if it helps you. There is also a version for use in public places, (if you like, you can claim to have a headache, as you massage/lightly tap your temples). Section 53, and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o at * http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris also refer: "Even though I suffer from OCD, I deeply and completely accept myself."

You are a typical neat freak of a woman. I am also as is my daughter-in-law and two out of six sisters. I also have a couple girlfriends who are the same. The opposite would be horrible. My step daughter (grown woman) and sister have an apparent aversion to neatness. Their houses are so messy you almost have to clear a path to walk through them. It's disgusting!

No. It just sounds like you are very orderly.

Your routine does sound a little more fastidious than most people, but it definitely doesn't sound like any kind of disorder.

OCD is having rituals and behavior that take up so much time that they get in the way of having a normal life. It also includes unwanted thoughts that make the person feel very uncomfortable but they can't stop thinking about it.

If you had to apply lotion to your hands exactly 40 times a day and vaccuum ten times, pull the vaccum in and out of a closet 17 times, turn the lights on and off 50 times, and check the inside of the refrigerator 30 times before you left the house, and you couldn't stand to ever step on a crack in the sidewalk (because if you "step on a crack you break your mother's back")--that would be more like OCD.

no i think they are good

It's only OCD if it drastically affects your daily life in a negative way. If you can get by alright cleaning your house and putting lotion on your hands everyday then no, you don't have OCD, you just like to clean. Not everyone who likes to clean or keep their skin healthy has OCD. There's a whole list of symptoms that you have to have in order for it to actually be called OCD. You may have some obsessive compulsive tendencies, but it doesn't mean you need help. From what you've described I'd say you probably don't have it.

Yes, you need help of a Psychiatrist to be treated this OCD of minor degree at present but if not treated at this time, may start giving you more trouble. Do you realise that whatever you are doing is not needed, can not control, if you try to control, not to do these things, you become restless, irritable ? If you say yes to this then it almost confirms that its OCD.
