Am I right to feel sad/pity for my relative?!

Question: Turns out he has autism and will forever have the mental capacity/level of a pre-schooler unless some major changes/breakthroughs happen. Makes me feel sadness/sorry for him =(, is this right?

how you feel is never right or wrong, it's just how you feel... as for this relative... as long as he is happy that's all that matters, he may or may-not ever even know the difference, which honestly isn't a bad thing... think about it, you had no real life worries as a pre-schooler right? so he may not either!

You've the right to feel however you feel without feeling guilty about it.

Though a lot of people who are autistic are extremely intelligent they're just stuck in their own minds. Perhaps a little more research will help you determine your feelings a little better?
