Depression, Anxiety and a job mixing?!

Question: This might be a few questions, but here goes:

I am 17 and have only had one job. I quit that job because of my anxiety of the cash register, answering phones, etc.

I have depression and anxiety, it really gets in the way of my fears. I am dying to get a new job, but of course I'm stressing at how I'll do. I'm thinking about doing a really easy job like a clothing store where I'd just work with clothes and then maybe moving on to cash register.

Anyway, my question is, is there anyway I can calm my nerves when it comes to this new job? Any stories or new job advice would make me feel so much better.

And would anyone know super easy jobs aside from babysitting?

Thank you so much in advance.

I was nervous like you when i started my current job position. I had never used the program and was terrified i wasn't going to learn it fast enough or that i would get criticized on the quality of my work..but everyone turned out to be really understanding and helpful.
I think you're in the same situation. You're scared you'll take too long to ring someone up or you wont know what to do. and you don't wanna answer phones because you're scared you won't know the answer or that you'll say something wrong.

Its not abnormal to tell a customer that you're a new employee in training and you'll get somebody to help. Just relax, and if you have a question , ask someone that can help you.

You'll be fine. Just remember that everyone is willing to help you learn and you'll pick it up and be on the same level with a little time.

Hostessing is a fairly easy job. I work at a restaurant and almost all of us have anxiety and/or depression, sometimes it is an issue at work but usually not that bad, we treat each other like family so we have someone to turn to if we're feeling anxious. Try a restaurant near you!
