I have OCD, but i dont know how to tell my parents.?!

Question: I know that i have OCD because I'm paranoid, i count how many times i do things, i feel like if things are out of place something terrible is going to happen. I don't know how to tell my parents because i try my best to make sure they cant see my rituals. I feel like if i tell them, they wont believe me.

Trust your instincts. If you believe that you have a problem, recognise and take the steps to make it better.
Your relationship with your parents is a two way street, but in this instance you really need to communicate your fears to them.
What you are describing sounds like classic OCD. It is treatable and something that you can manage for the rest of your life. Turn it into a strength not a weakness.
You mention thinking terrible things will happen, this is a large part of my OCD. There may be other issues there that may come out later like depression and anxiety. OCD enjoys the company of other disorders and rarely festers alone.
Talk to your parents about what you are experiencing and how it is making you feel.
If anything it should be an enormous weight off your shoulders not having to hide it.
Take care of yourself and remember there are many options available to make this better.

Obviously I don't know your parents, but I would think they would want to know this and help you with it. Good luck.

You might be surprised. Maybe you think that you're hiding things from your parents completely, but perhaps they have noticed some unusual behaviors in you that you aren't even aware of. Either way, you should ask your parents to take you to a psychologist or psychiatrist, because these professionals can help you. Your parents love you and if you're really serious, I suspect they'll take it seriously too. Best wishes.

It's not like you're coming out of the closet, which alot of people would react badly to.

They probably (despite your best efforts) have noticed something off and are probably not saying anything in an effort to not hurt your feelings.

As for them not believing you, I would suggest not being so secretive about your rituals. If they see them in some way then they would be more apt to believe you.

Tell your mother you need to see a Dr. Tell her the reason why. If she doesn't take stalk in what you're telling her, then seek help from a school counselor. Tell the counselor everything and ask for some help. Let THEM speak with your parents. She will have more influence over them than you just telling them you think you're sick. I'm sorry you're having trouble.... Good luck to you.

I have it too, but my parents already thought so, but I was at my doctor and telling her about how I wash my hands so much and she suggested that we go get testing so if you talk to your doctor during like your regular checkup or whatever just add that in and they'll test you, it's not a big deal and you'll get though it :)

Just say mom/dad, I think I have some obsessive compulsions that I really need help with. They are taking over my life and I want help.

Well you definitely need to tell them for sure. Just set them down in a room and tell them about you problem, and make sure that they know that your serious and not trying to get attention. A lot of parents now a days think that your just wanting attention if you tell them something like that. but if all else fails then try a school guidance counselor that's if your still in school.

Just come up to them and cry and after 30 minutes or making a dramtic scene onece u finally tell them theyll believe you.
