Line a pudding bowl with suet pastry, fill with a couple of pounds of diced steak and kidney. Pour water over it to just below the top. Put a suet pastry lid on it. Cover with pleated foil, tied on, and steam for 5 hours. Beautiful steak and kidney pudding with fantastically rich gravy.

I've eaten it - but I didn't love it. I liked it enough, though. It's like the chocolate cake of meat - really rich and dense.

Geez, it's not even that bad. Much more flavorful than chicken breast, or whatever it is that you eat. I don't mind that people don't like it, but it upsets me when people won't even try it because it's kidney.

Kidney pie is a delicacy in some areas. I've seen it saute'd in wine as a starter. Personally, avoiding liver and its friends is a good thing.. Have a happy and healthy new year!

Nooooooooooo. my mom used make me when i was a lil kid. it tasted SO BAD. i am 31 now and i STILL remember it. HOW NASTY! I mean, please. the kidney is the organ that filters the blood in ANYthing. whether it be human, or animal.I am so glad I didn't know that when I was a kid. Oh how SICK! I used to eat oysters, too! GA-ROSSSSS! Now I won't eat ANY seafood. At all. Not shrimp, not lobster, not any manner of fish. Nothing. That's just plain SICK! But i eat chicken and beef and pork. (bacon, ham, etc..) But seafood is meant to stay in the water!
