What is worst Alcholics or someone addicted to Smoking?!

Question: As an alcoholic who just quit smoking: alcoholism.
Smoking is disgusting, makes you taste bad, is little fun and is addictive in tricky physical ways.
BUT
when you stop smoking it can't kill you.
If I were to sum up my argument in two words, they would be delirium tremens.

Quitting smoking, I was surprised by how little I craved. I mean, I missed it and I wanted smokes. But ****, I didn't really care. It didn't _compel_ me.
Other people are different. Both are shitty addictions.
I've been an alcoholic for 8 years. EVERY time I quit I come back. Out of boredom, out of desire to have something to turn to in my life when everything else is ****, whatever. I've turned away from every other drug I've ever done, and have no particular desire to do any again, even though they're all fun.

Alcohol is always the one that makes me do the most stupid things... hurts and embarrasses me the most... takes the most of my money... and is the one I can't leave.

I could seriously go on for hours, here. Cigarettes suck; they short-circuit your reward system. But the use doesn't cause terrible mood swings, bad judgement, drunk driving (disclaimer: I don't drive!) or unconsciousness/alcohol poisoning. And physical withdrawal doesn't cause seizures and hallucinations.

So. Hands down, alcohol.
As for alcoholics vs smoking addicts. Neither. They're both people in need of help and judgement doesn't help. Blame the substance, not the user.

Funny thing about abuse is it's the people who are abused, not the substance. They're the abused lovers that keep coming back for more.

Smoking. No Question.

alcoholics, it takes over your life and becomes a serious disease
You can still function normally while smoking

Alcoholic--- you can have as many cigerettes before drinking and you won't potentially kill someone, or yourself (at that moment) alcoholics have the need to drink and usually they drink and can cause a car accident or kill someone. and when an alcoholic is drunk they can be come mean people. alcoholic I think changes the mind way more than smoking.

Alcoholics, u never know when they'll go off!!! Smoker's know what there doing.

Alcoholics definitely! I mean have you heard of a smoker getting behind the wheel of a car and killing a whole family? Or a smoker that beats his/her family and claims to be too smoked out to remember? I don't think so. I mean I know smoking is bad and it can cause cancer and harm people around you, or so they say. But if a person stands beside you and inhales the smokey air around you it is their choice to be there, but a family who gets run down by a drunk, or bashed by a drunk has no choice.

The drink I believe ruins more good people than smoking ever will.

Alcoholism is much worse.

Alchohol is worst.
Lots of people smoke but it doesn't make them mess up their lives. Alcohol will do that.

my god look at the answers, alcohics are 100 times worse than a cigerette smoker,,your liver is damged everytime you drin where as a cigerette doesnt damage with each puff,

smoking....

Smoking because they poison other people.

i would say being an alcoholic. its make u do things u would not normally do .like dui etc

I can tell you better than anyone that an alcoholic is worse. My Uncle passed away due to being alcaholic because he could not control his drinking no matter how many times he was told to quit drinking and regardless of how many programs he went through. I can tell you also that medically drinking takes a heavier toll on your body than smoking. I.e. Smoking effects your lungs, tongue, throat and heart. Drinking hurts your liver, your entire blood line, kidneys and ultimately can hurt your throat and larynx. Often times if someone drinks a lot and often they reccomend not to eat solids because you can burst your esauphogus. Ultimately drinking is worse and my Uncle smoked too, but doctors and family alike were much more concerned about the drinking. Alcoholics cannot be cured. Anyone can quite smoking if they choose to do so.

They are both addictions.

alcoholics because they have to go to them stupid meetings now if you said a drunk thats different because they don't need dumb meetings

Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker, but smoking is just totally nuts.

alcholic's...they're both bad!!!

Interesting question. Lets see...by smoking you can also make other people around you get lung disease and that's never good. But I think drinking is worse. It makes you do stupid things, ignore your family, quit your job, ect. They both make you die sooner than a normal person. And both are expensive.

alcoholics because theyre under the influence of something. smoking just ruins your lungs and makes you smell bad
