I'm feeling very worthless right now. I need some advice?!

Question: Heres the deal: I used to play soccer and volleyball but since then, have fallen from the love of sports. That alone makes me feel like I'm nobody since at my school sports are basically everything. I've looked at all the clubs at my school and none of them interest me at all. I'm looking for a job but don't currently have one. So that leaves me not involved in anything. I have great friends and I am very social, but in the inside I have so many insecurities. If I didn't have a social life I would probably be dead from being bored and lonely. It kills me when I hear my friends talking about their sports and such. I'm a good kid, 4.0 gpa but I'm worried that my grades and honors will not be enough as I'm trying to prepare for college. I'm always on time for my curfew and everything. I'm always worried that I'm disappointing my parents and family. I'm just feeling so worthless right now. Some inspiring and kind advice would be of great help right now. Thanks.

Wow boy, so many worries. Do you think the world will end if you DO disappoint your family or yourself from time to time? Let me tell you: NO. You'll just pick yourself up and try again:) That's all. Don't u see that the most successfull people are the ones that always give themselves a break and are not their own BIGGEST critic?

If your family is strict...well that's good. But you also need to have your own mind, your own ideas and your own personality. Eventually you will be on your own and you'll need to be PREPARED, EQUIPPED to deal with it, without guidance.

How about volunteering with a church, soup kitchen, an animal shelter, or Habitat for Humanity? Volunteering could give you that boost of satisfaction you're looking for, and it will look great when you apply to college.

I'd say first off try to get back into whatever sports it was you gave up on. Even if your not really wanting to do it, its better than just sitting around or whatever, your getting exercise and you're involved again so thats good. mmm try to talk to people about insecurites? or have a good ole think about them. I realised things like that when I thought, just dont let them get you down!

And grades and whatever dont worry. You sound like a a good kid what with cerfew and all so i'm sure you'll do fine. Put some time in and then reap the bountiful rewards afterwards.
