If you think you have an anxiety disorder you probably do. Some symptoms are feeling nervous or jittery, sometime you might have a spacey feeling. You may get panic or anxiety attacks. This is when you will suddenly start to sweat and your heart will begin to beat quickly. Sometimes you will feel like you're going to die or that you just want to get out of there. I knew I had an anxiety disorder after my first panic attack. You can get through it by deep breathing and telling yourself everything will be ok...this will pass. These are alot of ways to deal with anxiety. You could talk to your doctor about meds or there is behaviour modification techniques. I just started the program from stresscenter.com and so far it seems promising.

You have to see a doctor. Only a doctor can know for sure.

I think I have it too. But my mum denied it too.

I'm sure it can be fixed quite easily.

Just go out more force yourself to talk more and do more socially.....

Well in general you don't like being out in public, you have anxiety attacks for no apparent reason. Anxiety attack symptoms are sweating, racing heart, chills, fear of dying, crying, etc. I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder. You need to speak to a psychiatrist to decide if you need medication. Anxiety is serious and I hope your parents come around. Best of luck.

just tell your mom to let you go talk to a dr... a dr is the best one to talk to and they can tell you if it is anxiety or panic attacks and give you something to help you.. Just talk to her and let her know you are worried and would like to go see a dr...... :)

You should see your doc. Anxiety disorders are very common, and although not fun to go thru, easy to cure. Tell your mom you could really use your support, because it's better to have someone to be there for you.
You can get books too that will help explain it and give you tips on how to manage. Once you know what you are going thru it makes it less scary and easier to overcome. I wish you luck!

It is actually very common. You don't need your mom to believe you. How old are you? You can go to the doctor yourself and seek help. Symptoms include: Insomnia, feeling worried or uneasy all the time, feeling tired, being irritable or quick to anger, an inabilty to concentrate, a fear that you are going mad, feeling unreal and not in control of your actions and detached from your surroundings.

Ask your mom to have an appointment with a psychiatric doctor for you .

If you find yourself unable to perform normal activities due to nervousness. Such as not being able to go outside, ride in a car, stand in line in public...stuff like that, because you tense up so much, feel like you can't breathe, feel like you desperately want to escape from the situation, feel like you have to vomit or run to the bathroom immediately. That is a simple explanation of anxiety disorders as I have experienced them, as well as others that I have known.

Go to your school nurse or school counselor if your parents won't help.

I suffer from that and so does my son. I knew I had anxiety disorder because I could not cope with very much, I felt nervous all the time, felt panicky at times, didn't like large groups of people (still don't), worry alot, difficult to sleep. Your pediatrician can definitely tell if you have anxiety or not, mom should bring you for an evaluation. I know people do not like the thought of their kids being on medication, but my feeling is, that if a medication helps a person cope, takes away the feelings of panic and anxiousness, and allows the person to feel relaxed and in control of themselves and due to that they now can enjoy life much more, that it is well worth taking a medication.

Why don't you ask someone who cares?
