I Feel That I have to Be the Best.?!

Question: I really don't know why but lately I've been feeling the need to be the best at everything. I'm sonstantly worrying. I have to have good grades, friends & drama at school, and even just being the best at stuff. I hate the feeling and I'm usually not like this. How can I calm down? I don't want to be like this and I want to be happy!

hey, you must be stressed out right now. trying to relax and do yoga. that will make you calm down and not feel this way again. I was really stressed out a few weeks ago, remember? a lot of people said that I need to relax and do some yoga. I did what they said and now I'm not stress out anymore. try doing that and you will be back to normal! Good luck!

  • you're a perfectionist...do yoga

Trying to do your best is good. I think that a person with your attitude will go far. In something is wrong don't beat yourself up about it. Break it down and find what was wrong and learn from your mistakes. Good Luck

I think its just stressing out!! Get a hobby. Something youll like to do!! It'll help a lot!! Smile, be nice, and enjoy your life!!

if you have to threaten to report people then your just.... ur just plain weird.

I think it's a phase of going through being the best and then realizing tht there is no need to be the best and that your exhausting yourself.
I went through the same thing untill i realized imperfection made me even more happier.

Well if you want to be the best, you might want to work on your spelling. Just a thought...

i knew someone who was like that well after a wile some people may not be your friend anymore how to fix it hmm start looseing at stuff and laugh about it go YES I WAS LAST HAHA and just have fun with life life is amazing love it even if you loose but grades just do your best no ones racing you with grades

    take a qaulude...
Also, Ive learned that if you set goals in life, you only set yourself up for dissapointment. So by by not setting goals, you will never be dissapointed.
    and...
Worrying is like a rocking chair, gives you something to do, but doesnt get you anywhere...write that down

Make a list of things that you are great at. Be specific, though. Instead of "getting good grades," write what individual subject you are great at.

Accept that as a human you can't be perfect at everything, but you have enough strengths to be proud of.

Also, ask yourself why you want to be the best at everything. Are you trying to boost your self-esteem? Are you trying to impress someone? This will help you understand why you are conflicted.

    Feel better!

I feel the same way sometimes. Ask yourself "What would happen if I wasn't the best?". The answer, probably, is nothing; the world wouldn't end, it wouldn't be devistating. I would recommend slowing yourself down when the feelings arise, by taking a deep breath, as this should bring you back to the present moment. If you have the opertunity to, in the moment, then write your feelings in a notebook should help to get them out of your head.
However, if the feelings become overwhelming (ex: getting down on yourself, self-injury, self-hatred, depression, etc. ) do not hesitate: get yourself into a therapist. He/she will be able to further address the issues.
