Do I have ADHD and I just don't know it?!

Question: Sometimes in class I'll get nervous, especially when I get called on, and I kind of like paralyze get that feeling that I want to jerk my head in a sudden motion. It's not like I'm nervous to answer a question, but it's kind of a natural reaction. Any explanations

No where near ADHD. My guess is you just feel put on the spot. Which you are, and will be as long as you stay out of the spotlight. I turn red when put on the spot. I've never been able to learn how to control that, but I've just come to realize "so what I turn red". As long as your behavior isn't causing you harm you shouldn't worry about a mental disorder and just need to focus on self confidence.

This is not ADHD... the symptoms you are describing sound stress related. You may be suffering from an anxiety disorder. the moments of paralysis could be a mild panic attack.

Also from what your describing it could be (as a worst case scenario) the very beginings of touretts syndrome. You say you have this urge to "jerk your head"...this is indicitive of touretts. (yes touretts is sometimes attributed with loud outbursts, but it is just because touretts is basically uncontrolable urges)

however, most people when singled out, will feel a certain amount of fear. there are practices you can do to feel less uncomfortable.

It really may be anxiety though...even so I would seek professional help. there are plenty of things to make you feel better...even certain medicines you can take. A trip to the doc will help you make sense of things a little more and make you feel much better

fear - we all have a little of it - just work on it, by making yourself do it :)
