What are some signs of someone being suicidal?!

Question: Talking about it, giving things away that may be special to them, and wanting a friend or relative to have it before they commit suicide. Doing little things to themselves, to get up the courage to actually do it. Looking depressed, acting depressed, maybe hoping someone would take notice and be concerned. Avoiding those around you, I imagine there are plenty of other signs, but people just don't seem to notice or seem to care. You know how it feels, to feel alone, to seem like nobody cares, that maybe no one understands. If you will allow help to come your way, you can make it through this. Let God be a major focal point in your life. He will help you, than you can help someone else that has felt the same way you have. You were there. Remember this, there is somebody somewhere, who may be just like you. And you will be the only one that can help them through their problem. Keep on keeping on.

attempting suicide

depression

Holding a pistol to your head, and saying Im gonna blow my brains all over the wall.

How about trying to kill yourself...?

do you need a friend?

Shutting themselves off from friends, losing desire to do the things they once used to love to do, giving away their valued possessions. Oh, and talking about themselves in the past tense. There are other signs too--those are just a few.

when they are depressed and stop doing their usual fun activities

change in behavior, like being very down and depressed, then all of a sudden, they seem happy or visa versa
giving ones things away, possesions that mean alot to them.
if you have a friend that you are worried about just aske them if they have a plan to commint suicide, and if they do
encourge them to get help asap
and if they don't you need to call 911 or a family member
don't take it lightly

they talk about killing themselves.....when I break up with someone sometimes they threaten to kill themselves---I just tell them to do it outside my apartment....I couldn't stand to have to clean up all that blood. eck....

HE START GIVING AWAY ALL THINGS BECAUSE THEY ARE WORTHLESS IN THIS WORLD.

IT IS A GOOD IDEA HE GET A NEW GIRL AND START LIFE ALL OVER AGAIN.

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL.

Some talk about it, some don't...previous attempts are good indications, having mental illness like depression, mania or persoanlity disorder. Some have plans and start working on that.
It is hard to tell, but these are the major signs, some suicidal patients fool their therapist by not revealing their plans

1. Giving all their stuff away. (Stereo, DVD player...)
2. Suicidal attempts.
3. Talking about suicide.

If you think someone is suicidal, get involved. Ask them. No kidding, they want to know that someone cares. Get them qualified help. If you don't know where, then call 9-1-1. An ambulance will take them to the emergency room and they will be forwarded on to professional help from there.
In the end, the worst case is they may be mad at you, for getting involved, but better mad than dead.

The most interesting sign I know of is a person giving away valubles. The person may give away objects of great importance and value...for example they may give a friend something that has been in the family a long time. A suicidal person may actually talk about how they are going to do it. The person may also go from being very sad to suddenly happy.

They give away cherised possessions

Well I would say not eating, depressed ,not talking wants to be alone all time wearing black. nothing can make them happy no matter what.

by just thinking about it.

go to www.suicide.org ... at least, I think that's the site. It has a lot of information, including a list of warning signs.

Some indicators someone could be having suicidal thoughts are:
1-Withdrawing from their normal activities (shopping with friends, going to work, watching TV with their kids, etc.)
2-Engaging in risky behaviors that are out of character (drinking, doing drugs, being sexually promiscuous, gambling or shopping to excess, etc.) or, if there is a history, increasing these activities
3-Increased talk of death or dying
4-Depression
5-Loss of appetite
6-Not taking care of themselves (not showering, wearing dirty clothes, not brushing their teeth, etc.)

Not all of these are automatic indicators, but if you notice someone close to you with several of these symptoms, call the suicide hotline and get help!! People often believe the suicidal person will "just snap out of it" or it's "just a phase". This is not just a phase, it is not something they can just snap out of. This is a serious, life threatening situation and the person needs help. Unfortunatly, some idiots believe mentally ill people shouldn't be forced to get help. As a result, Virgina Tech, Columbine and other tragedies occur. Mentally ill people who are on medication and are monitered by psychiatrists are LESS likely than "normal" people to be violent or a threat to society or themselves. But if unstable, they can pose a bigger threat. As a result of mentally ill people having this "right", you may not be able to do anything for the person until/unless they actually attempt suicide. But you can recruit other people whom this person is close to to watch them and support them.

Making final plans like wills and giving things away and a sudden change from depression to a relaxed state.
