HELP!!! I'm So nervous!!!!?!

Question: I get very nervous any time I'm in an uncomfortable situation. Like Super!!! It bothers me a lot because when it happens I can't think straight. So if I'm doing a job interview or taking a test... I won't do as well as much as i know I am capable of. Even when taking a driving test. I got super nervous. It also sometimes makes me feel stupid when I'm talking to people and I get nervous, I start to stutter and I don't seem to know what to say, or what I am talking about. People probably perceive me as an idiot, which i don't think i am. This really bothers me a lot because it's keeping me from getting what i want sometimes. How do i get myself to calm down??!!!

sounds like you have anxiety.. get the book panic to power by lucinda bassett, it will really help.. im the same way in situations. you can email me at summergirl5959@yahoo.com if you need to..

Just take a deep breath and tell yourself to chill out.

Sounds like you have "Social Anxiety Disorder". Make an appointment with your doctor so that you can discuss treatment options. Sometimes just medication will help. The best treatment for any mental health problem is a combination of medication and therapy.

Go see a professional...and not just your regular doctor. Sometimes general practitioners will put you on meds you don't necessarily need. It might be something that can be worked on with counseling...either without or with a little medication to help you feel more like yourself in those situations. I've been there, but it can get better.

chamomile tea, walking and smooth jazz.
